  5. While somewhat teetering, Greene completes 5 innings, albeit with too many pitches thrown. That said, he still pitched a good game. It’s amazing, seems every pitcher they face turns into Koufax. Yeah, we scored 3 runs, but this offense truly sucks! On a brighter note, I’m meeting up with Don B tonight to see Chris O’Leary at the Towne Crier. Gonna drown my sorrows and get my mind off this disappointing & under achieving season.

  6. they keep trying to make excuses for Teixeira on the radio, you know what, he sucks plain and simple, every pitch he tries to pull, the whole team for that matter has that approach, but he’s the most stubborn

how about a $22.5M hit there, I can’t believe this guy tried to pull an outside fast ball this is looking like another game where the offense can’t tack on runs, in a band box no less

guys like Pearce hit HR’s guys like Teixeira can’t even get a base hit

  7. Hard to say who’s the most under achieving Yankee of this season. Close race between Beltran & Som, McCan’t, or Timesharea. But, McCan’t has hit around .280 since July. And Beltran & Son has truly played hurt all year. So, I would have to say, in spite of his 20 HRs, Timesharea, who’s now 1 for his last 20 ABs, is the poster boy for this under achieving season. The guy is as brittle as Turkish taffy dropped from a 6 story building. All year he’s let the 1st pitch right down the middle for a get me over strike go by. Only to strike out flailing on a down and away slow curve. He’s failed to see what the opposition is doing to him all year. So, he’s my candidate for Most Disappointing Yankee.

  8. Truthfully they all suck.Tex is a huge disappointment, when he is not striking out,he is grounding out right into the shift or injured.Verducci had some interesting comments about the Yanks, saying they have a lot of pull hitters that don’t use the whole field, one reason why their offense is so poor;they have no young players to bring up-GeniusJoe said that was a problem-lol Really!!! McCants homer was #3 on the road, his first since May!!! Naturally he left 2 on in the 8th,no surprise there. We have seen this movie before,Yanks take a lead then desperately try to hang on with the bullpen never bothering to score any more runs.
