Candle in a Hurricane, but Still Burning

First off Re: the Wild Card, the Yanks got everything they  could possibly hope for last night with every team in front of  but the A’s losing, it probably would have been better had the Indians swept their double header instead of the split.  The chances are just  about flat lined but if the Yanks run the table they’ll  end up  with  87 wins.

KC has 85 wins as we speak, Cleveland 82, Seattle 83, the Royals have 6 games left, the Indians 5, and the Mariners 6. Baltimore supposedly is playing for the best  record in baseball, you wouldn’t know it by their last 4 games where they  are 1-3 vs Boston  and NY after going 6-1 vs Toronto to  and the Bombers in the previous 7

Things could conceivably break because of who  teams are playing the last weekend of the season where we’d have a 4 way tie for the final  card. The Yanks and Indians have the least margin for error in that case scenario, plus the Mariners and Royals would have to  flatline against  the Jays and Angels for Seattle, and the Indians and White Sox for the Royals

In the what have you done for me lately baseball  world the newest glimmer of hope for the 2015 Yanks Mikey Pineda tossed a gem at the sleepwalking Buck O’s last night in a nifty 5-0 Bomber win.  Sans a total collapse of the 3 teams in front of them the Yanks have to just about run the table to even have the slimmest of WC chances with the Royals already  at 85 wins and last night was a good start for the week

Mikey 7.1 innings, 1 hit, 1 BB, 8 K’s, No runs 1.93 ERA.. So  the question demands is the Charm City Poet gonna turn the switch  back on and go for the best record in the AL like he told Ma Pinstripe or are the O’s still hung over and stuck in the mud?

Memo to  the Charm City Genius, you will have to get past Detroit 1st, then worry about home field vs the Angels

Is Steve Pearce that much of a need for the O’s line-up  to click, he seemed to be the only starter out of the line-up last night  is he the Baltimore Jonny Gomes good luck charm?

  4. Sal–Mariano should hire Pedroia to cook at his restaurant. Pedey is a gamer. Cadillac would be pinching the waitresses in the ass if he worked there.

  6. hahaha that’s a spot on take noogsie, I even toss it in the brilliant envelope

Big D, must be a huge Japanese contingent.. also I think they think anybody on the Yankees that doesn’t get hurt is a keeper

or maybe the fan base got so into this Jeter thing they want to chase the Ichiro 3000 hits, but he won’t get that for 2 more yr’s

the other thing is I think a lot of folks look at the BA and Ichiro leads the Yanks in that category I’m not sure he has the legit amount of PA’s (347) but Frankie is second with less PA’s and the legit guy would be the Doughboy with .271

that’s all really pathetic offense.. Too bad Ichiro can’t hit the ball out anymore.
fans are so sick of seeing these big contracts sitting on the bench with injuries, the 2 guys who didn’t get hurt this yr were the 40 yr olds throw in Kuroda who is 39

    what’s with these fuckin kids

    Singleton wearing a rug hahahahaha

You know Kenny is rooting for the O’s he almost let it slip last night when he thought Jones was hurt running, but all he wanted to do os put on his sliding glove. I like Singleton but I’d rather listen to Cone every game not some Oriole legend

I hope Headley doesn’t price himself out of NY, there’s your Hem Roid and Timeshara back up, and he’s a tough MFer I wonder if Joe Maddon got hit in the chin would he be out of traction yet?
