The Boston Massacre

with 11 comments

The Red Sox have put on their Yankee hat fellas

Or have they? Anyway if the endless rumors are correct

Looks like Sandoval is going to Boston  5 for $100M, and Hanley Ramirez isn’t far behind. This is a move right out of the Steinbrenner playbook, a potential $190 to $200M purchase

Proves too me that Slugging is now the new premium in baseball, yes you need the Horses at the top of the rotation but that  market is moving slower then Holiday  traffic while teams with payroll  flexibility are securing offense

Boston also  brings in two premier  sluggers from the ages 28 to  31 for under 7 to  10  years, and right around $18 to $20M per

Now the Steinbrenners should jump on Scherzer or Lester, plus grab Robertson or Miller, or both

Despite offense being the premium, as Bumgarner proved, good pitching beats good hitting

Big day in Boston, time to  wake up  Hank, fly him to Tampa, any chump  can  run the casino  escort service for a few months while Hank  blows up  the Yankee budget

  1. Red Sox were laying in the weeds acting like they were going with all prospects but landing in last place 2 out of the last 3 yr’s woke them up that’s one fucking line up if they don’t trade Cespedes

Yanks need to counter with a stud Ace and Miller and Robertson or either Miller or D-Rob

  2. Yeah Sal,, cause Scherzer & any stud pitcher can hit 25 dingers and drive in 100 runs,,
grrrrrr, truly gonna be a Giants fan if those 3 assholes Hal Hank & Cashless keep running us into the toilet so their bimbos can wear more Designer dresses,,

still not clear what’s going on Donny, but my guess Boston stacks the deck with Sandoval and Ramirez and trades Cespedes which is good, but the keep Bogaerts and Betts, unless they desire a trade for Hamels then one of those kids has to go

NY isn’t gonna get any offense they have too much invested in the Al-batross 3rd baseman, and Teixeira.. this does clear a path for Headley whose biggest leverage was him going to Boston

And the Yanks can counter now by bolstering the pitching.. them getting Lester would wrangle Boston

then again with that line-up Lester might give them a home town discount that’s the favorite team to win if they get 2 front line pitchers

of course winning November and December isn’t a sure bet, but boston will be chalk on MLB TV…

what everybody is forgetting, Boston only plays 81 games in Fenway’s small left field, that slug trying to catch balls in some of the bigger left fields would be a circus act

hell of an offense though damn.. come on Hank wake up and bring in some pitching dude

  5. Ike Davis, please ?
He aint the Messiah but a steady back up for our billionaire 1bman, no ?
Throw your Don a bone, puhleeeeze,,, ??

  6. Davis is gone, son. Nothing we can do about it. He’s with the A’s now. As to the other thing, “Let’s get ’em now, while we still have the muscle!”. This is a street thing between the Sawx & Yanks. We have to act. Not just because the Nation made some great moves for competitive money, but they didn’t give up anything but money, which they print every day up there. And, they didn’t give up any players, so they can use them to fill their other needs. Now is the time to counter, ya hear! Hal, Hank, Randy, Lonn, & Cash… listening? Sign Lester. Yanks always won with great left-handed pitching. Or Sherzer. He ain’t chopped liver. And, nail down the Pen! Build that 3-headed monster. Make it a 6 inning game by signing “Robinson” & Miller. Along with Betances, that is one formidable group I’ll take my chances with. And sign Headley, now that his Sawx option has left the building along with Elvis. Do something that makes sense! Jeez!

  7. Lets not jump off a bridge yet-Sandoval has 106 hrs,has hit into 102 dps,has 20 hr in a year twice,never driven in 100 runs.

  8. Hey boys, the other good thing is Ramirez can’t play LF and they both can’t be DH’s in 2018,, but they upgraded 3b immensely last yr Middlebrooks was equivalent to what we got out of SS

still that’s one hell of a line up even without Cespedes if they trade him.. We have to hope Philly doesn’t just give Hamels away without making it hurt.. Boston had $50M to spend they already spent $40M on those two they still need 30 to $40M in pitching.. They’re gonna hit the Lux Tax if they do that, makes Lucchino look and sound like a bafoon for his we aren’t the Yankees BS

    CF Betts
    2B Pedroia
    DH Ortiz
    LF Hanley
    1B Napoli
    3B Sandoval
    SS Bogaerts
    C Vasquez
    RF Castillo

    CF Betts
    2B Pedroia
    DH Ortiz
    LF Cespedes / Ramirez
    1B Napoli
    3B Sandoval
    SS Bogaerts
    C Vasquez
    RF Castillo

  9. I’d be shocked if Boston flipped Bogaerts and then uses Marrero at SS, he can’t hit, but something has to give

they’d rather trade chips for Hamels or Zimmerman then resign Lester? Makes sense for Lester to go to the NL, but he might be pissed enough to sign with the Yanks, except I don’t see NY knee jerking this Sandoval Hanley deal and giving the money to Lester

Hal is doing a good job fielding a 3rd or 4th place team.. Boston has trumped the Steiny Bros big time, they have so much depth and flexibility it’s sickening

    November 24, 2014 at 11:46 am

    wake the fuck up Hal

If #SFGiants have indeed lost Sandoval, they likely would make a run at Headley. They also are in play for Tomas for LF per @JimBowden_ESPN.
