GIANTSUPCLOSE-master315Eli Manning  After Sunday’s Loss, Happy It’s All Over?

With  baseball news as slow as Don B going to  his wallet for a Democratic fund raiser, we’ll try to  catch  up on what  has transpired over the last week or so despite MLB crawling at a snails pace. We’ve had to  spend more time in  the Donut shop recently then we really want to, so we haven’t had a chance to touch on some of the recent proceedings

Finally the Giant season is over, the G-Men  ended up  6 and 10, have been out of playoff contention for weeks now, but it didn’t stop WFAN from  talking about the Giants / Jets  Mess at the Meadowlands ad-nauseam.  You could flip on the radio  at 6 AM, 10 AM, 1 PM, 6 PM, 10 PM, 1 AM, 3:30 AM, and you heard the same stuff regurgitated over and over and over

Different hosts, same tired rants, but the one show that had me heading to Radio Shack on Sunday for a new Grundig after I finally cracked and threw my trusty bright yellow portable into  the Ashokan Reservoir  was the Pork Chop Jones / Gary Myers filibuster on Saturday.

Pork Chop is the Lois Lane of football journalist, I’d rather her tell me what every word  on Odell Beckham Jr’s arms say or where he gets his hair done  then listen to her breakdown Ben McAdoo’s West Coast offensive scheme.

There are only 2 people I wanna hear  talk  football on WFAN,  and that’s Carl Banks and Boomer, the rest of these mooks especially Jones, Francesa, Beningo, the Schmoozer, Carton, Ma-Use-less, and the Jimmy Olsen of football Gary Myers can take the week off.

How useless would it have been for the Giants to  fire Grand Pa Tom  5 weeks ago  when Francesa was killing time screaming how the Giants were dangling Gramps in the wind and they  should just  shit can him. Why is that Tubby, so  you can  bore us with  revisionist history? How about letting the man  finish the job on his feet, and you stick  to  losing your trusty listeners hard earned gambling money on your misguided picks.

The Jets finished off the season  4-12 with a win over another team that  had nothing to play for the Dolphins, again more ad-nauseam chatter non stop 24 /7 for months now about a nonentity owned by Woody Johnson who  seems to  be as useless an owner as his kid Breezy was a music producer

Thank God  Francesa won’t have Rex to kick  around anymore.

As for the Yanks, the big news after Cashman traded away Prado, a pro  swiss army knife with only 2 years left on his contract at a reasonable $11M AAV, but kept Gardner who’s 4 for $52M contract kicks in this season, was Hiroki Kuroda deciding to head back home to Japan to finish out his career.

Thanks for the memories Hiro, no  doubt at times he was the Bombers best pitcher, but to  think  Cashman  was gonna pay him $16M or that  this proud man was gonna take a huge pay cut and grind out a 162 game schedule for half the dough at 40 yr’s old was whistling past the graveyard

Some of the press acted like what  are the Yanks gonna do now??

Nothing, with  50% payroll penalties kicking in they already made their move when they flipped the useful Prado  for a cost controlled Science Project, Nate “Giuseppe” Eovaldi and inked their newest Depth Charge Beano Capuano, who  ironically is buds with Eovaldi

Once Soup Bone Sabathia gets his plane tickets sorted out and comes back  from his Freak Out Jamaican vacation, he can  start his Yankee vacation where he’ll get paid $23M this yr, $25M next yr, and if his shoulder doesn’t fall off $25M in 2017 for the honor of giving the Yanks another  5.28 ERA / 1.478 WHIP season

5 years/$122M (2012-16), plus 2017 vesting option
signed extension with NY Yankees 10/31/11
12-15:$23M/year, 16:$25M, 17:$25M vesting option ($5M buyout)
2017 salary guaranteed if Sabathia 1) does not end 2016 on the disabled list with a left shoulder injury, 2) does not spend more than 45 days in 2016 on the disabled list with a left shoulder injury or 3) does not make more than six relief appearances in 2016 because of a left shoulder injury
no-trade protection
perks: suite on road trips

Captain CoCo Puff has already indicated he won’t be 100% thanks to  a bum knee

Sabathia is expected to pitch next season and says he is ready to start spring training. However, he will need plasma treatments for the knee and says he still won’t be 100 percent. He’s also had stem-cell treatment for his injury.

Sabathia has no cartilage under his kneecap and will need regular treatment.

He lives in New Jersey and is a father of four, helping coach a group of teen football players called the Tenafly Tigers.

There you go Francesa, maybe CC can be the next Giant or Jet Coach

Midget Tossing

I always get a kick out of Mikey 21  bloating how he’s “numba one in New Yawk” Mikey your up  against the Midget Lupica from 1 to 3PM who now writes Children’s Books, then the completely useless Michael Kay  show that  you can’t get on AM radio, or have to be in a special listening area to get this unlistenable warbling on FM radio, or be in front of a TV in the afternoon hours….

Francesa or any of the  WFAN talking empty heads are broadcasted by the largest  Sports Radio  signal in America, more often then not they’re the only NY station with a prominent signal once you leave the metropolitan  area, so it’s sort  of like beating a one legged man in an ass kicking contest beating Kay, Lupica, and La Greca

We’ll get more into  the Bomber line-up now that Prado is gone, but from what I’m seeing some of the pundits lay down, do  we really want to  see #9 Gregorius, # 1 Ellsbury #2 Gardner? All in a row?

  1. the other day the Boston Herald had an article stating the Sox have 8 All Stars in their line-up lol

Talk about being delusional I can’t wait to get the Frisco Fats voo-coo doll out, and send him on the same trip we sent Crawford, Valentine and last yr Bradley JR and Bogaerts..

Your turn Frisco welcome to East coast baseball chump, good luck earning that $19M per after never getting paid more then $8.5M in San Francisco where they mellow down easy

wait until the Chowder heads chime in with your barely 3 P/ PPA.. They’re used to grinding down pitchers not 1 to 3 and done

Frisco Fats doesn’t swing and miss much and he is pretty good hitting pitches low in the zone but from his Brooks intel he also is a sucker for pitches above the letters and with his I have to hit to get off the island mentality he can be pitched to, and his strike zone can be expanded

that is a long line-up though so it won’t be easy

  2. Jets–4 wins, Knicks–5 wins, Giants—6 wins. My math is that’s a total of 15 wins out of 65 total games. 15 and 50—35 games under .500. As Cheech and Chong would say–Holy Sheepshit.
How much longer can these radio and print guys beat this misery to death?
Time to move on to baseball.
Better haircut? Odell or Buckwheat? Don’t tell Al Sharpton I was asking.

  3. I’m still laughing from the line about baseball news moving slower than Don B going for his wallet for a Democratic fund raiser!!! Too funny! You’re a better man than me Gunga Din. During football, basketball, and hockey season, I can’t last more than 5 minutes listening to Fransayso or his cohorts without sprinkling in a nod to baseball. It’s anathema to me! And Friday’s are the worst! Cuz it’s football Friday where they pick their lame pics & talk incessantly about the upcoming game! It’s worse than being locked in a room with an insurance salesman who looks just like your brother-in-law, that you’ve hated for years!

  4. Bondsie, the Don would move a bit quicker if he was dosing one of those bull shitters, but he doesn’t carry that stuff in his wallet….The Red Head promises to die her hair black if he would kiss and make up.. Actually I saw a photo of the Don with Red this weekend, they have it up on their wall

The Don The Hen, the Little Big Man, and somebody who looked like he was ready to unload his substantial bank account for the cause after all 3 of them worked him over

it brought tears to my eyes……..I’m working on getting the Don back in the mix, they could sure use him….

  5. I dunno Sal. I talked to him yesterday, I think hell will freeze over first before he goes back there. It runs oh so deep, son! But keep it up, who knows. Btw, the way they treated me Sat was disgraceful & unnecessary. Just sayin

    • yes they’re out of control.. on many levels, management issues also. No wonder the ship is sinking

  6. from nicky 2 fingers

“Cherington has revamped the offense with Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez. There is no position weakness unless Xander Bogaerts fails to handle shortstop or Rusney Castillo doesn’t live up to his paycheck?.

Sandoval is being paid $19M that means he’s under the microscope.. Sandoval was more of a lets get the TV ratings back plus he’s Ortiz’s buddy.. Ortiz usually shoots off his mouth a least a half dozen times by now, has been quiet after they inked his two buddies to protect him in the line-up

Cafardo is kissing Henry’s ring writing on the Henry owned Boston Globe, so him thinking Castillo and Bogaerts are the only issues is dreamland personified

They’re banking on Betts based on 1 month in September? Can Vazquez hit MLB pitching, Is Pedroia gonna stay healthy, if Ortiz doesn’t find a way to keep juicing is he gonna be the big stud offensive player? How are they finding room for Nava, Victorino and the $27.5M they still owe Craig, plus field Betts in RF, Castillo in CF and Ramirez in LF?

Is Napoli over his 2014 injury bug, and how many runs is Ramirez letting in playing LF no better then we’ve seen Soriano or Ibanez play.. Yeah both of those guys are older, but at least they have experience in the OF

We don’t even want to start on their pitching staff.. their spin is Miley, Porcello, Masterson, Kelly, Buchholz are ground ball pitchers so that’s a plus in the AL East band boxes

check out their pen not one live arm, and if Uehara continues his 40 yr old decline they better hope some of these overhyped kid pitchers can bring it

  7. It’s too bad. It’s still my favorite room. Nothing like it. But the people running it haven’t a clue. Never did.

    December 29, 2014 at 11:37 am

  8. Yanks traded Shawn Kelley to the Padres for minor leaguer Johnny Barbato-another salary dump!!

    December 29, 2014 at 2:47 pm

  9. Now Kelly??? WTF is going on with these guys? Jeez!!!

    December 29, 2014 at 3:36 pm

  10. Ok, another pitcher gone for who ?

    Is there really a plan??
