A Flick of the Wrist

First off congrats to  the NY Rangers for winning last night, thanks fellas, now we have a game 7, and more front running Know Nothing Jerks on the radio acting like they’ve grinded every period out all  season.. I knew we were doomed when Francesa said on the air he thought the Bolts were playing better and the Rain-Jizz would lose

OK so we know the Yanks can beat  the AL Champs, now if they  figure out how to take down the rest of the league maybe the worm  didn’t leave in Ernest Hemigway’s tackle box and it really is turning

Call me crazy but who  thought Mark Teixeira would be 2nd in HR’s in all of baseball, third in RBI’s ( the AL) and that Adam Warren  would be the Yanks best  pitcher?

All I know is today I’m throwing any and everything with wheat in the garbage, and I’m going Gluten Free. Apparently Mark Teixeira is healthy, so  far he’s finally earning his keep, and he wasn’t kidding around when he said he wanted to keep playing after his contract expires in 2016

I wouldn’t go  that  far, but yes he probably will  find a job someplace if somehow he can remain whole, something he hasn’t been since 2013

“I didn’t have any fun the last two years battling through the wrist thing,” Teixeira said. “Being able to play baseball healthy again has been a lot of fun. I’m very blessed to be able to go out there and play, to play every single day and not have to worry about every swing hurting — which it did the last couple years. It’s been nice.”

Thats great, let’s hope Tex stays the course and  he can bridge the gap  between  today’s matinee and when Greg Bird gets here in 2017

Last night he got the Yanks off and running with a two run Ballantine Blast, you guessed it, in the first inning.. We don’t have time to  scan the whole season, our focus has been from May 12th when the Yanks started to spring a leak, but the 2 run Tater was the 5th time in the last 13 games the Bombers put up  a 2 spot in the first inning..

In 4 of the 5 games they  never scored again, it looked like the same deal as Jason Vargas appeared somewhat sharp scattering 3 hits over the next 3 innings keeping the game at  2-0

In the 5th the worm  turned and Young scratched out a single, ARod singled and Teixeira doubled them  home.. Headley capped the 3 run inning with a sac fly

The crooked number was all Adam Warren needed as he dominated the Royals for 6.1 innings, 5 hits, 1 run, 5 K’s, 3.91 ERA.

It worked out, but Joey decided to yank him after 88 pitches, the spin, he was getting into long counts…

Orlando  took him deep in the 6th on the 6th pitch of his AB for the Royals only run. Warren  got Infante and Escobar on 7 pitches and Moustakis on 6 pitches, so  the 19 pitch 6th  inning sent up  a red flag in Joey’s mind

Cain helped him out lifting a 2-0 slider for an F/8 in the 7th, and with Hosmer coming up, Joey went to his chemistry set and brought in Wet Willie Wilson.. A scary thought anytime anybody but Betances or Miller are summoned, but sans one hit, Wet Willie managed to  end the 7th unscathed, but it took  a nice play  by Drew to keep Betances in the bull pen until he entered the game in the 8th

Betances was scary good striking out the side in the 8th it should have been illegal

Miller coughed up  a 1 out broken bat  single to  center, Headley then muffed a tailor made 6-4-3 DP and Miller had to  strap it on in order to pick  up Headley’s 11th error of the season

8 pitches later Hosmer was punched out and Morales went down on a scary F/9 to right field to  end it.

I don’t think  they  double up  Cain but getting at least  1 out would have kept the angst level  to  a minimum.. So  far  the Royals, the best  hitting team in the league have been asleep  at the wheel scoring only 2 runs in 18  innings while in NY, they  didn’t need a Headley gaffe to  wake them  up

Somebody should check out Headley this guy was great  defensively last yr, but he’s Jekyll and Hyde on defense this season

Warren  who we’ve pined to get back to  the pen, probably isn’t going anywhere, even with Tanaka on the way  back.. I’m not sure what  transpires, the Yanks already have 3 LHP in the pen and I don’t see Capuano  heading there, We’ll blow up  that  bridge when we get there

  1. good job by Warren and Tex, Warren is shockingly good
Huge game for PineTop today, the royals look flat, Young has stymied the Yanks, I just hope they don’t back down knowing they took the series, be nice to seep then head to Oakland, but these getaway games are never comfortable

I bet they play it like the cab is running, so Pineda has to rebound to keep the energy up

or not what the fuck do I know lol… you can’t predict anything in baseball except they play another game today

  4. Warren has been more than anyone expected,he has been their best pitcher. GeniusJoe did not mess around with the bullpen-other than Wilson-using Betances and Miller in non save situations, they need to win games, period.
Yanks back in first thanks to the Rays loss=Mariners led 6-3 going to bottom of 9th,had bases loaded,
Longoria missed a slam by inches, was 2 run double,6-5;Mariners could have turned game ending dp but their second baseman made a bad throw,6-6.Mariners then scored in 10th to win=hoist the flag!! I have not been listening to BigMike,I cannot stand his bs on hockey, since he knows nothing about it,never spoke about it since 1994. Mushnick is still after him, reported that someone wrote the Pentagon to determine he lied when he said that
Army asked him about their football team-lol!! I hope the Rangers win the cup, even though I never watch or listen to any of the games,I used to go to the games in the old Garden back in the old days.
