Jekyll and Hyde Yanks Sweep, T J Tanaka’s Excellant Adventure

The Back Afta Dis Segment

First  all  the good stuff,

The Yanks sweeping the Royals was phenomenal, that  said, with  this Jekyll  and Hyde  Bomber squad I’m gonna leave the window open for some fresh air, but I did come in off the ledge, despite wanting to wait outside the Bomber locker room so I could drive Didi Gregorius to  the wrong airport and put him on a plane to  anywhere but Oakland.

As Big D said, Relax Sal the Yanks won, all is well

Girardi  did sum it up, it’s when you catch teams, and apparently the Yanks caught the Royals a tad flat,   the Bomber offense outscoring the AL Champs 23-4 over the 3 game sweep helped.

Eovaldi relaxed with the huge run support the boys gave him in game 1.

Warren  was great for 6.1 innings, 1 run, 2 hits, followed by Wilson, Betances, and Miller. Teixeira was a one man  wrecking crew in game 2

Yesterday you really took a deep  breath and a sigh of relief that PineTop Pineda and not PineBox Pineda showed up to  clinch  the 3 game sweep 4-2

PineTop’s slider returned, he was touching 95 so  when he did miss a little bit that 95 heater hit McCan’t’s glove a lot sooner then expected. A bunch of down and away  followed by up just  above the hands. Off balance contact that kept the Royals from  barreling up. He ended his day  with  3 consecutive punch outs before Joey yanked him at  106 pitches

Gas Can Carpenter came in, faced 1 batter, gave up  1 hit and the Can had to be bailed out by Wet Willie Wilson  before Betances and Miller pulled off their Terminator Two act getting the last 6 outs

If I’m Gas Can Carpenter

I’d keep my bags packed, he doesn’t look hurt he just  can’t seem to get results despite the thought he’d return to his 2013 form  when he set up  for Kimbrel in Atlanta

My guess the Yanks despite not wanting him to visit too many real  estate agents will  give him some rope, he comes recommended by McCan’t and they might think  they  can  still  fix him…I do  believe he’s out of options, so he’s an on the job training project and I’m not sure the Yanks have that luxury..( but ) They  really need to  find that  3rd head in the Bull Pen before Betances and Miller rack  up  too many innings, so  the early season  auditions will  continue with Carpenter, Wilson, Shreve and now Lindgren

 Pineda’s Pitch FX

Despite the fast ball cutter  / change up not having much velocity differential, the slider was wipe out . 62 of Pineda’s 105 pitches came in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings. He countered twice with an 8 and 9 pitch inning, and two innings that  didn’t exceed 15 pitches, so  he got enough length from his 106 pitch afternoon

The main prognosis Pineda looked like a dominant pitcher again after two  sub par outings

ARod did the most damage with a clutch  3 run Tater, and McCan’t helped out with his 6th HR that  tied the score 1-1 in the 2nd inning.. The Yanks could never tack on any runs after the ARod 3 run blast in the 3rd but Pineda 6.2, Wilson 0.1, Betances 1, Miller 1 made it hold up

ARod set some RBI milestones that  the Yanks aren’t making a big deal out of, just keep  getting big hits Alex, let your bat  do  the talking, so  far so  good

the Whole 9

the Lo Down

New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka warms up in the outfield before pitching for the Scranton RailRiders against the Durham Bulls in a baseball game, Thursday, May 21, 2015, in Scranton, Pa. TJ Tanaka’s Excellant Adventure

Tale of the Tape

Tanaka and Davies two  varsity pitchers, one rehabbing the other staying stretched out.. 8  innings, 11 hits, 6 runs, 6 K’s, 1 HR

It’s much more complicated but to  give you an idea of the competition, Romine went 4 for 5.. Bradley Jr who  couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a row boat for the Boston  varsity took TJ deep  and hit a double off him

I know Bradley thought Tanaka was just  getting his work in, but the Yanks not committing to what  they’re doing for his next turn,  which  would be vs Cano  and Seattle tells you al you need to know about what  they  were expecting from his tune up

“My arm is absolutely fine,” Tanaka said through an interpreter. “It’s just that I was missing some spots today. You always have the good and the bad. You have to fight through the bad times and try to go about your business.”

Then  again  they  do  have to  find out how he feels this morning when he wakes up..

I hope he feels a hell of a lot better then I do. I know, relax Sal it’s just one game…

I’m starting to get sick of Tanaka’s act, either pitch or get off the pot and clear a roster spot

It’s uncertain where Tanaka will pitch next. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he will sit down with general manager Brian Cashman and other Yankees decision-makers before deciding whether he will return to the Yankees or make another rehab start. Tanaka said he is open to whatever move the team decides is in his best interest.

“We’ve got to see what we feel is the right thing to do,” Girardi said.

  5. Hell of a game by Eduardo Rodriguez got Boston
7.2 innings 3 hits no runs
The frustration nation will have their swagger back, new ace lol

Typical Hearhcott a few games and he’s hurt
Yanks just can’t seem to develop position players

Good that Severino was promoted to swb
    He can’t be far behind

I checked Rodriguez’s log he didn’t pitch a game like that all season in the minors
Kid looked good good rhythm fast pace paint on both corners

looks like DFA Sabathia is starting to pitch his game that 1-0 lead won’t be long for this game

    Beltran what a defensive mess
