Angels Answer The Yankee Prayers

The Yankees Win, They finally Win!!!

I’m not gonna  make any wise ass remarks like the Yanks scored as many runs last night as they  did the last 3 games, or The Yankees had the bases loaded with one out in the 6th inning and got just the one run, Better than no runs, which is more of a trend..

I’m not even gonna snicker at  the fact they lost a series to  a team who went 0 for the  whole series  with RISP (0-23)

How about the offense did pile up a dozen hits (three by Headley and two each by Gregorius and  Young), equaling their hit total from the last three games combined!!

None of that  stuff, we’re just  happy to get a win, put the boys on a plane and fly their tired butts to NY for a day off..

The Yanks finished the road trip  3-4, Joey Daycare said that’s better then  2-5, thanks for the good vibes Joey. They are  now done with the  20 games in a row purgatory march, finishing 9 and11, which is better then 6 and 14, but not as good as 12 and 8

They  were 4 and 8 on the road and 5-3 at home, My only complaint based on no Ellsbury and no Miller was  losing the Phillie series, it could have made this a 6-2 home stand and 10-10 overall..

So not much of a difference from what  our computers at  P the B had spit out before the purgatory march  started

Last night the Yanks got a decent outing from Young Nate Eovaldi, 5.2 innings, 5 hits, no  runs,   compared to  what Tanaka and Sabathia have been doing recently, Eovaldi is like having King Felix on the mound despite  his opponents’ batting-average- against is an unsightly .310 —  His WHIP is a bloated 1.54.

Eovaldi  cruised, or as cruising as he gets, through the first 5 innings, 4 singles, a walk, but no  runs.. He ran out of gas and luck in the 6th inning coughing up  a single and pitching around Trout and Pujols  for a pair of base on balls to  end his night..

He was definitely heading toward the same fate as the Titanic, but Shreve who has been nothing short of brilliant bailed him out

Shreve went 1.2 innings of flawless relief pitching… Justin Wilson managed 0.2 of an inning, luckily the Yanks had a 3-0 lead when he coughed up Trout’s 21st HR.. Anytime Trout gets a hit off a pitcher it doesn’t count against  their record, that  seems to be the M.O when media pundits wrap a game… So Wilson did a fantastic job with the humans in Anaheim’s line-up

Betances was called on for a 4 out save and he got Pujols on 2 pitches in the 8th after Trout woke up  the Anaheim faithful.. In the 9th inning, after getting up in the count 0-2 he lost Aybar on 4 straight balls.. No  worries, he got Freese on a pop up and punched out Robertson…

He fell behind Iannetta 3-0, got back in the count to  3-2 before walking him and putting the tying runs on base. Lucky the Angels have only 2 maybe 3 dangerous hitters in the line-up and Betances was pitching to  the soft part of their batting order.. CJ Cron pinch hit for Navarro and Betances struck him out on 4 pitches to  end the damn game

It was his 7th  save of the season.. Finding a flaw in Betances’ game is like finding a flaw in a Kate Upton swim suit shoot, but Betances has walked 18 batters in 39.2 innings this year after walking 24 in 90 innings last year. His location has been a bit suspect in 2015- but it hasn’t come back to bite him hard just yet

The Yankee offense wasn’t dramatic but they plated enough runs to  win

Gregorius singled, was bunted to  2nd, moved to  3rd on a ground ball  and scored on a clutch Headley single in the 3rd.. 1-0

Jones hit a 410 foot bomb to  right  in the 6th… 2-0

Yanks got 3 singles and a walk in the 8th to load the bases with  1 out… Gregorius plated one run  with  an RBI knock… Drew lined to  center but Jones didn’t want to  test Trout’s arm  so  the bases remained loaded…Babe Gardner struck out looking to  end the potential game wrecking inning

Day off Enjoy

  1. based on what Brickhouse was saying Miller back before the break doesn’t seem possible, or maybe i miss understood her, I was fixated on the fact she looked like a Macy’s Day Balloon with that dress she had on…

    here is the Ellsbury results

    and the games wrap

  2. They always only show a head shot of Brickhouse, you cannot see they have her tied to the ground!! The girls are growing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully the Yanks won, actually exploded for 3 runs, should have had a lot more but as usual could not get a clutch hit.Shreve did an incredible job,he has just been so much better than anyone could have believed.Betances made it exciting, reminds me of Wetteland with all the walks and base runners before getting the save. Kernan had an article about the Yankee pitching staff, the stats are definitely not pretty.

  3. Live the Fabulous Kate reference. Yeah D, they usually only show the head shot of Brickhouse, but sometimes, at the beginning of the piece, you get to see from the hips up. Which, if she has a revealing dress or cleavage baring top on, is must see TV! That thing she had on last night didn’t help. Too much exposure on those massive triceps & not enough on the girls. Not a good look for her. I think she’s been pumping iron lately, or has been on the No Salad Diet.

    • Thanks boys
This is a tanaka scrimmage at this point
if he can run the table after the Bad first inning and come out of it whole that works as a positive. even if they can’t catch Archer

      July 3, 2015 at 8:17 pm

  7. Agreed. But, it would be nice to ring this guy up!

    July 3, 2015 at 8:32 pm

  8. Tanaka is right on time
He’s a decent #3 in an AL rotation
Yanks need an Ace of another #2
Might change Hal’s mind about going after a high price ticket

    July 3, 2015 at 9:13 pm

  9. I guess K didn’t get the YES memo
Girardi shut it down with Archer getting the 5th hat tip game in the last 8 games

Cappy was just getting in some work Rumbelow is getting an audition

    July 3, 2015 at 9:41 pm

  10. Yanks playing with house money
    Great sequence with Tex

    Might steal one

    July 3, 2015 at 9:55 pm

    • Would hate to see a tie in the 9th after stealing the momentum
Rather see Betances saving the game

      July 3, 2015 at 9:59 pm

  11. I went to the gym & DVR’d the game. I’m in the bottom of the 5th, so, I’m just gonna peek at the postings. Tanaka San bounced back after a lousy 1st inning. But, Archer, is special!

    July 3, 2015 at 10:03 pm

  12. Holy shit! I just heard that Joba was DFA’d today.

    July 3, 2015 at 11:14 pm

    • Bring him in he can’t be any worse then Sabathia, put him at AAA as depth, although some team might give him a MLB contract

      July 4, 2015 at 6:56 am
