Looking For Minor Miracles
If memory serves, in 2013, the yr Hal started to whine about his payroll, the Bombers had about 90 players in Tampa… Seems they scanned every sandlot in the world and brought in players who had a pulse and a semi warm body, could play, and were willing to work for peanuts… Not 1 NYY farm hand made the position player roster, consequently Hal started to wake up and take inventory on his depleted Farm System, and things seem to be getting better
Except Judge couldn’t hit a lick at AAA, and Bird is always injured, so we’re still waiting to catch up to Boston who is already trying to talk extensions for Betts and Bogaerts, have Swihart and Vazquez as top young catchers, Bradley and Holt moving the needle as position players, and Rodriguez as a 22 yr old solid rotation piece
Starting February 18th Pitchers and catchers report, they start to work out on the 19th.. The position players report on February 24th, they start to work out on February 25th
This Year
While it appears Cashman signed every DFA / available minor league free agent in the world to a minor league contract, the Yanks will only have 65 players in camp..
The regular 40 man roster, and an additional 25 players, 15 of them either reclamation projects, DFA’s, or minor league free agents..
Friday all of the NY media publications came out with the list of players so we’ll post them here.. We’re surprised the local rags found enough space in their sports pages to actually include the Yankees lists, after all it’s been wall to wall Mets coverage, and rightfully so
The Yanks signed No MLB free agents, the have about as much juice as an empty NutriBullet® compared to the NL Champs who not only have the best rotation in baseball, they signed a bunch of good role players, Cabrera, Bastardo and a big Fish, The Cespedes, while replacing Murphy with Walker who melts off the books after 2016.

left-hander Tyler Webb;
