Tessio-Ride-1-Clippy

No  there is no  truth  to  the rumor Joe Girardi  nicknames his players to piss off the Don B, it’s just  something that  comes natural to Girardi.. Also  a natural  disaster,  the Don B’s disdain for the Bomber manager.. The Don has already sent Girardi  on the Tessio Ride after 5 games

Those post game pressers with Genius Joe make me want to smack him.
He talks down to everyone.
Party line Kool aid is one thing but he takes that crap to a whole new level.
No one ever pitches like shit.
They all have one bad pitch or blah blah blah aaaah
Arrogant Little puke who knows Mgt has his back, no matter what.
Grrrrr

In fact the Don B needed to  rent a Stretch Limo, that’s how many folks he’s upset with in Yankeeville .. Girardi, the coaches,  the owners, the Radio  voices, half the TV voices, and at least 15 to  20 players all felt the wrath of Donny B, the Paint the Black  enforcer

I am so not looking forward to this season.
I hate the mgr
I hate the GM
I hate Ownership
I hate 50 % of the Team
I hate the radio voices
I hate more than 50% of the TV voices
I am doomed

Anyway I ran  across a puff piece on Girardi’s  nickname fetish and why he adds the  Y at the end of everybody’s name

And intentionally or not, there appears to be an unyielding focus on putting a “Y” at the end of everyone’s name.

New outfielder Aaron Hicks? Hicksy.

Relief pitcher Chasen Shreve? Shrevey.

Right-hander Luis Severino? Sevvy.

Outfielder Brett Gardner? Gardy, of course.

Girardi has a theory on why he might occasionally speak in this manner.

“Maybe it was because I liked math and didn’t like English when I was in school,” Giradi said. “I’m being defiant.”

April Fools

Thanks Noogsie for the tip…

Mushnick goes after Honest Mike Francesa, and his insidious Golf Narrative, not to mention the poor bastards that paid to  see the Mets on a rainy night in April.. Any game the Yanks can steal while playing in April Northeast / Midwest  cities will be welcomed

Thankfully the Tanaka game was weathered out on Sunday  night… Of all  the things MLB needs to  fix at this yr’s CBA, where they play April baseball needs to  be one of them

Hollywood Nick Is Back?

I saw this feed while up in Boston this week, and privately I was wondering what  took them  so long.. Hollywood Nick Swisher was inked to  a minor league contract by CashMan

Swisher has 2 months to get his act together, at which  time he can opt out of the Yankee deal  and look for work  somewhere else

Still not sure why CashMan  didn’t grab Jesus Montego  when Seattle waived him last week.. I mean  you ink the former Bomber phenom, and stash him at Double or Triple A no?

Anyway Swisher makes sense, based on the pure fact, Dustin Ackley makes Eduardo Nunez look like Ozzie Smith on defense..Swisher plays a better defensive first base, he can  also fake an outfield spot…

The only bummer, it might mean losing one of the younger players on CashMan’s depth chart

Dustin Ackley — If there’s a big league player immediately at risk of losing his roster spot, it’s probably Ackley. Ronald Torreyes might be the last man on the bench, but his ability to play the left side of the infield is necessary. It’s Ackley who could be redundant and replaceable, especially if he doesn’t look good at first base. Ackley has more versatility than Swisher, but his primarily role is to backup Mark Teixeira, which is something Swisher can do (and possibly with better defense). If Ackley hits, his spot is probably secure even with his shaky glove at first. If Ackley doesn’t hit, though, the Yankees now have an alternative waiting in the wings.

Chris Parmelee — The regular outfielders in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre are pretty high-priority prospects who are probably going to get regular at-bats with or without Swisher on the roster. Parmelee, though, is specifically with the Yankees to serve as first base insurance, and Swisher could very easily step ahead of him for that particularly depth chart. While there’s still room for Parmelee and Swisher to split some time at first base, DH and occasionally the outfield corners, Swisher’s presence can’t be great news for Parmelee. Without Swisher, Parmelee is the top in-place first base alternative. With Swisher, that might not be the case.

Ben Gamel — Hard to know where Swisher would immediate fit in the Yankees’ outfield depth chart. Aaron Judge is kind of a special case because of his prospect status and the fact he probably won’t be in line for a call-up until after Swisher’s mid-June opt out anyway (Yankees surely want to see him have some sustained success in Triple-A). It’s more interesting to think of how Swisher’s arrival might impact Gamel and Slade Heathcott, who are already on the 40-man and seem to be next-in-line should the Yankees need an outfielder. Because he’s primarily a corner guy, Gamel might be most prone to fall behind Swisher for a potential big league call-up.

Cesar Puello — An unexpected piece of the outfield depth chart, Puello made a big impression this spring and most certainly emerged as a right-handed outfield possibility. He hasn’t been an everyday Triple-A outfielder like Gamel, Heathcott and Judge, but Puello has shown a good bat and a strong arm, which puts him in the mix should the Yankees need an outfield reinforcement who doesn’t swing from the left side. As a switch hitter, though, Swisher can also provide some right-handed balance with the added benefit of having big league experience and the ability to play first base.

Jake Cave — The Yankees have been playing with an open spot on their Triple-A roster, so Swisher’s addition wouldn’t necessarily lead to someone getting released. However, it could block an obvious opportunity for someone currently in Double-A. It’s not so much about Swisher potentially filling the open roster spot. It has more to do with the potential for opening Scranton/Wilkes-Barre at-bats should someone be called up to New York. Cave, in particular — or Lane Adams or Tyler Austin — might have been an outfield call-up away from returning to Triple-A, but Swisher could stand in the way.

  4. hey fellas, good to be back on the mountain

Just what I wanted to hear, hacks like Beningo and Francesa talking golf and hockey, like they know what they’re talking about

The Met Mutts aren’t diving into their lost week end vs Philly, what a surprise… I guess they had the Golf and Hockey high on the list… Worst news I heard all week was the Rangers making the play offs… Unless they get knocked off we’re in for two months of this stuff, guys who never watch all season long acting like they’ve been on every shift
