The Countdown!

Yanks face Cleveland, Boston, and Baltimore in the next 9 games, that should clear up the Bombers next move one way or the other

Hal’s Reality :

His team is in for a rude awakening just based on the inconsistent starting pitching, which might be a bigger problem then:

the aging middle of the order,

the Hicks failed experiment,

the 2 yr $40M ARod having no place to play debacle,

the Teixeira bum knee,

the 4A middle relief pitchers Cashman keeps pawning off as MLB professionals

the McCann can’t hit LHP any more problems

the 10-17 record vs AL East teams

the 6 and 15 record against the AL East teams that  are in front of the Yanks

Up To The Deadline

Over the next 15 games, the Bombers do not play  another patsy until Tampa Bay on July 29 /30 / 31st.. It’ll be a steady  diet of  Cleveland, Boston, Baltimore, San Francisco and Houston who are all teams playing above .500

NY would need to go at least 9-6 to be 1 game over .500 with 3 days left until the dead line concludes.. The good news if you’re still in it to win it, 10 of those games are at home.. Only the last  2 games in Cleveland and the 3 games vs the Rays at  the end of July are on the road….

Then again, W-L record be damned, the Bombers could be 2 games under .500 and still only 3 or 4 games out of the WC play in game ( They’re 5.5 out right now)… Hal needs to find a new cherry picked stat to base his no sell theory on

Or not, maybe he’ll still rake in the dough if he turns the 2nd half of this season into a mini old timers / farewell tour event… Come see the last of Teixeira, Beltran, Chapman, maybe even ARod in Pinstripes…!

Come watch the contracts evaporate, it’s better then watching paint dry, and a little less annoying then the sound of water dripping on an empty tin can

BTW the Yanks weren’t even  competitive in last night’s 10-2 beating  vs the Indians..

Poor Chad Green may have gotten a slew of invitations to pitch in the HR Derby next week after his 4.1 inning wake up  call…

“Greenie” gave up  5 hits, 4 of them HR’s, 2 solo shots, and two  2 run Bombs.. The single with one out in the 5th  was all Psycho Joe could take.. Napoli’s 2 run HR had Qatar Airways written on it, it traveled so  far the radar completely lost track of it’s whereabouts…..

Down 6-0 P-Joe started the Gidrool procession and Gidrool in training Ricky Belier immediately coughed up  Green’s inherited run plus one of his own to make it an even 8-0 lead after 5 innings

Belier made it 9-0 in the 6th, long tenured Gidrool Tony Swarzak allowed a solo Tater to make it 10-1 in the 7th before the Indian offense decided to  take the rest of the night off..

Actually Cleveland had 10  runs on only 9 hits, but 5 of the 9 knocks were HR’s….

The only 2 runs scored by the Yanks came on a garbage time McCann HR in the 7th, and a pair of  garbage time doubles by Beltran  and McCann in the 9th

  1. the silver lining was Green’s 14 swings and misses lol more then Tanaka’s 12 in his last shut out outing

These are the types of things we should be looking for, little glimpses of quality from young players I guess…

Green is 25, so while we’d all love to be 25 yr’s old again, 25 yr’s old for a pitcher is prime time bordering on he’s either a quality starter or not???

Green might be what he is, a back of the rotation type starter which the league is overstocked in already, and one reason why CashMan got two of these types of pitchers for a reliever……Green might be nothing more then 4A depth, or a throw in player in a deal

  2. One team showed up last night with slingshots while the other team had automatic weapons. It was a mismatch from the first pitch. Psycho Joe said that Green had bad location. So does he. He’s in the Yankee dugout.

    • hahahaha…. hey Noogsie Psycho Joe is running out of bull shit trying to cover this mess.. If the Yanks weren’t owned by a nerd, Psycho Joe would already be working for MLBTV, but these nerds all stick together

Hal must like hearing all that school boy bull shit Girardi slings his way…….

  3. Red Sox fans going ga-ga over Moncada who really is tearing up AA.. He smacked around every team but Trenton where he’s 1 for 11

I still say if He’s 21 yr’s old, I’m 25, that dude looks like he’ 30 yr’s old.. Portland is a last place team, why is Moncada getting so many good pitches to hit? I guess that pitching around guys doesn’t happen until the varsity, or Hal really fucked up not signing him for $63M

Hopefully Judge limping off the field last night is nothing serious

  4. You’re right Sal. Joey Binder is running out of things to say in his post game pressers after these losses. When asked what went wrong with “Greenie” yesterday, his pre-taped response was “I think location”. Got a slider up, got a slider down, got too much of the plate. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I can’t take it anymore! It’s time to back up the truck & get some of these guys outta here before respective teams in the same position, do the same! And Hicks is the 1st one to go. A superlative athlete, who can run like the wind, has a cannon for an arm, but couldn’t hit water falling out of a boat!!!

  5. Green found out the Indians are better hitters than the Padres. The game was over after 1 inning, the parade of gidrools just ensured it. I am surprised there isn’t a lot of noise about the disappearance of Arod,
it seems that they are disrespecting him like they disrespected Posada. If they really want to get rid of him,
let him play 3b. If he gets injured mission accomplished. But just burying him on the bench and giving lots of at bats to Hicks is a waste of time.

  6. hey fellas good stuff thanks

Damn Indians scratched one across off Betances.. I thought he’d escape after the Santana punch out, but they just shorten up and try to make contact

Torreyes sprinting home saved it too.
    Miraculous win.
I heard Coney say Headley has played an excellent 3rd base this year ??
