All’s Well That End’s Well…..

with 22 comments

From the little I saw on replay  it looked like a very classy  and successful A-Rod  send off. Alex Rodriguez has definitely perfected the art of public relations, of course his legacy will still be

Too little too late..

It took  falling to  the bottom of the  Villain pile before A-Rod was desperate  enough to make an attitude adjustment in the effort to land wherever you want to place him on your Good Guy’ List..

Of course Alex Rodriguez would have been a lot easier to  take if he had come out of the gate as Humble Al instead of the schmuck he was portrayed to be in the media, but all’s well  that  end’s well, as the tumultuous career of A-Rod as a NYY player comes to  an end.

It was only fitting that Lightning Rod smacked a 1st inning double, plating Captain Gardner, the only Bomber player to  come out and denounce  Al Yankzeera’s treatment of Rodriguez

For a brief moment A-Rod was possessed by the same Ghosts that intervened on Jeter’s momentous milestones, a picture perfect inside out swing, a line drive hit where they  ain’t,  the ball managed to  allude right fielder Souza long enough to  score Captain Gardner and the House that Tax Payers Built erupted into a manic frenzy.. The A-Rod herd had gotten  what  they  paid for, anything else was gravy.

The co-star  to  this A-Rod drama, Crying Joe, didn’t disappoint with an all time classic performance at his post game presser..

Crying Joe’s Oscar winning performance

“Some people think that I wanted to make negative decisions, but that’s not the case. I have a huge heart,” said an emotional Girardi following Friday’s game. “If this is the last time he plays, I wanted it to be something he never forgot.”

Crying Joe’s sentences were paused by emotional tears

“That’s why this week was so tough for me. That’s what I want in a player. Me and Alex have been through a lot together, and I have really strong feelings for him. And this has been extremely hard.”

Again Crying Joe’s delivery was interrupted by a river of tears that Christian Bale  of  AMERICAN PSYCHO would have been proud of

Anyway  it was a great  win, Castro had a good night, 2 hits, 4 RBI’s and a HR, Hicks got the Tater that  allowed A-Rod to play one out at  3rd base, Humpty Teixeira sent his buddy  out with a 2 hit night

Sabathia 6 innings, 4 hits, 3 runs a quality start, Clippard Warren Betances, 3 scoreless and hitless innings with 5 K’s.. Betances punched out the side to  close it,  his 4th  save

the Whole 9

Welcome to NY Tyler Austin

  1. Hey Psycho Joe–there’s no crying in baseball. Another reason to not let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

  2. Sal glad you got to see the crying game. The ceremony and all the accolades were very nice if not a little over the top for someone who was getting released after being buried and humiliated on the bench for a month. Yanks won,Arod got a hit and rbi, alls well that ends well….or not. Its like the Yanks gave themselves an enema, cleaned out the poison(Arod) and today brought up Judge and Tyler Austin, put them in the starting lineup. No Tex or McCann,Romine catching,Sanchez dh,Austin 1b,Judge rf could be the start of a new era. I watched the entire 1996 pregame,it was great going down memory lane and seeing these guys. I was actually at the first world series game in 96,Yanks got killed and I decided its best to watch on tv as they won championships.

    • Hey Big D! I also was at Game 1 96 WS. Also at Games 2 & Game 6, Cryin & Lyin Joe’s WS moment. Missed last night’s & today’s games, was in Tennessee. I guarantee, Arod will play again for another team to get 700 HRs. No way does he feel done. The Yanks did to him what they did to Bernie & Posada. Dissing their great players at the end has become a Yankee Tradition. They should be ashamed.

  6. You know, no one killed Alex more than me
    BUT
    His turnaround was nearly perfect.
His advisors ( probably his daughters ) gave him great advice.
It all seemed real and sincere since he fid his 180.
So yesterday, no matter how tweaked all the details, machinations and manipulstions wereit was “nice”.
Happy for him in front of his girls,,,
Hated Girardi’s crocodile tearsand his false paisanship.
Guy named his poor kid Dante
    Case Closed

  7. Moscone agree their treatment has been disgraceful. Don’t think that the other players don’t notice and see what happens. The next player to receive the treatment is McCann, they want him to waive his no trade and get rid of him-can’t really argue with that!!-lol BTW Brickhouse is not pregnant, the girls are just going through a growth spurt-lol

    • Hey fellas
phenomenal Day for the Yanks, too bad Ref wasn’t up for it, I’m fearing the worst for him

Awesome to see those kids take off like this

  8. Pretty good article here, good for Bernie Williams, very refreshing take compared to the Rivera / Jeter company line BS…

  9. just because Severino gets a shot thanks to an injury doesn’t mean he’s fixed…

  10. wow Judge is a strong kid, if he’s committed to hitting line to line he could be a pretty good slugger, most hitters would produce gap hits, this kid puts a charge into it..

Severino looks a little better, still really predictable, but some of those deceptive type breaking pitches look like out pitches…

Severino needs to go 6 innings 3 runs to really take a step forward, we have to be patient, trying to turn a two pitch reliever into a starter might take some time

You know what’s coming next, these rookie hitters will have to make their first adjustments once the league gets a book on them

  11. Severino is still way to predictable, looks like adding and subtracting velocity is on his to do list

some of his stuff looks better… Trying to turn a 2 pitch reliever to a top of the rotation type starter will take some patience.. This kid loses it after 3 innings, just saying, he’s barking like a reliever, so they have some work to do

    • the good thing about MLB pitchers, they make mistakes.. good thing about Sanchez, he can wreck it quick… Very nice double by McCann, send that video to John’s, Hart and Coppolella in Atlanta

  12. Same old story with Severino, only 2 pitches, got hit hard. They need to either send him down or put him in the bullpen and leave him there until the end of the season. At least its exciting to watch the Yankees hit,
I look forward to watching Sanchez,Austin and Judge hit. They have some good young players, now they need to find some good young starters because their pitching staff is dreck.

    • hey big D yes just heard they sent Severino back down.. that’s good, they really want him to be a starter, and will give it time.. Good move.. If they somehow get in a playoff race this nor he can come back and work out of the pen as a weapon..

Yes these young players are fun, now I would like to see Ref back…

Severino optioned to AAA, Yankees say. He got a reprieve with Eovaldi injury, but today’s start causes the Yankees to demote him again

    Yankees 0-9 in Severino’s starts.

Over last 100 yrs, this is only time Yankees have lost 1st 9 games of season started by a pitcher.
