YES posted a graphic before last night’s game on Yankees Starting Pitching

Last 8 games 4-2

 ERA   2.57

BB/K  6/57

 OPP AVG   .210

 HR Allowed   2

That shot Sanchez hit was legendary, moscone gave me the heads up  that he went Big Fly, man what  a bomb..#The FranChez, maybe he needs his own dedicated camera, sure is fun to  see

“Shoot, if Babe Ruth is hitting behind him, you intentionally walk him,” said Teixeira after the Yankees’ 5-0 victory over the Mariners. “I mean, he is as hot as any player I have played with in my entire career. You just don’t see guys doing what he is doing. I don’t care how old he is.”

Sanchez, 23, had crushed a solo homer in the first. In the fifth, the double Sanchez smashed down the third-base line was as hard a hit as you will ever see, according to Teixeira.

Sanchez is now batting .389 with nine homers and 16 RBIs in 72 at-bats. His OPS is 1.297. Only four other players have hit nine homers in the first 21 games of their careers. That is in baseball history.

At this point in time I’d walk my mother just  to pitch  to Humpty Teixeira, but yes that’s  impressive props for the kid, and a shock  that Humpty actually came through with  an RBI knock proceeding the intentional pass

“He’s earned it,” Servais said of the intentional walks. “He did a lot of damage against us.”

What’s also amazing are the props Sanchez is getting as a defensive catcher, apparently the grind and the focus of calling a game hasn’t collided with his offense, which seems to be a see the ball, hit crush the ball approach

Sanchez caught Masahiro Tanaka’s masterful seven scoreless innings. It was the fifth time this season- Tanaka has gone seven or more innings without allowing a run, the most in the American League. Tanaka called Sanchez’s play “astonishing,” which pretty much summed up all of his teammates’ thoughts.

In Tanaka’s last  2 outings with Sanchez calling the game, 14.2 innings, 11 hits, no runs, 14 K’s, 1 BB

Sanchez is 5 for 7 with  a HR

Tanaka looks to be getting better while El Pollo Martinez who last yr said Tanaka wouldn’t make it through the yr with his bad elbow, looks to be getting fatter sitting behind the MLBtv desk

This and That

Is it  strange sitting Ellsbury after a big night, a scheduled day off?? I don’t get  that, it sounds like fucking Corporate America, not a baseball team.. Does that mean the DoughBoy focuses more and works harder if he knows tomorrow is an off day?

Or was he hurt again, the foul ball off his foot and the jammed ankle? The DoughBoy plays hard, but that  seems to derail him more often then not

Judge made a nice defensive play throwing out Cano, then he gets hit by a pitch for his trouble, glad it hit him in a meaty spot.. Judge isn’t exactly Billy Hamilton, but he’s no slow poke, nice run scored on the Austin knock

Austin made a bonehead play  in the bottom of the second, is Tanaka’s baseball  acumen is a bit over Austin’s head ?  TJ set up  that DP with the comebacker

  2. If I had a race horse I’d name him Hoss Cartwright

except i wouldn’t race him, he’d be a pet that sleeps with his head on the couch, and i’d probably have to walk him on a leash… Mrs Sal gets a little crazy with pets now and again

    • If I had a horse, I wouldn’t race him either. I would just use him to breed other horses. I would call him Khartom and show him off to Tom Hagen when he came to town.
I would then not pick a fight with Tom and make sure that Johnny Fontaine got that part.
Hopefully my horse will be around a long time.

  3. Torreyes is turning into Mike Schmidt, I read Headless is mad.. Here’s one thought, Headless should insist on getting traded, make a stink Head, call out the GM and your Psycho manager, force Hal to ship you outta here…. please

  7. Francesa needs to stop listening to CashMan for his insider content.. Mikey, here’s a little clue bro, CashMan isn’t telling you anything he isn’t telling any other media gas bag, it’s a company line, not insider intel big guy

We’re not getting content via smoke signals anymore like when you started in the business….You’re a comedian Mikey, not a sports guru

  9. Now we know where Charissa Thompson lives-Bonerville. All of the females have a ways to go to catch Heidi. Sanchez has been beyond belief,Ricky said “Do they have enough film for his Yankeeography yet?”
He keeps making more highlights every game, was walked intentionally twice yesterday!! He is so far off the charts he is making poor Judge and Austin look bad. Saw in the Post that Headley was upset that Torreyes was playing instead of him-maybe he should try getting hits instead of striking out 3-4x/game!!
He shouldn’t really worry,Torreyes will “need a day” soon. Now instead of being bored watching the old stiffs do nothing,I am excited and look forward to seeing Sanchez,Judge,Austin hit. Its surprising when Sanchez doesn’t get a hit!!-lol Tanaka has been unhittable on this road trip, beat his former teammate yesterday. The great news is that we are done with the West Coast, all the games will be at normal times,30 of the last 36 vs the AL East, time to get things done. Someone needs to tell Francesa that there are people that record his show and whatever he says-lol Some asshole fell into the Yankee dugout yesterday!! The TSA must be providing security at Safeco Field.

  11. The Baby Bombers really know their strike zone too.
No one is “expanding the strike zone” as the cliche goes.
Sanchez is really learning our pitchers, calling good games.
    Can only get more comfortable.
The young Pitchers too have stepped up.
Cessa, tonight’s bullpen too, throwing strikes.
Headley needs to go away so Torreyes can play everday.

    August 26, 2016 at 10:04 pm

    • hey Donny, hopefully they rope Judge in he’s struck out 16 times in 46 PA’s ,almost 35% he gotta drop that down to at least a Granderson type 25%

      August 27, 2016 at 8:26 am

    • I’d like to see Headless gone to open a spot

Castro to 3rd open 2nd base for Ref Wade long shot in 2017 Mateo

I think Torreyes is a good platoon option at 3 infield positions
That will get him more playing time
They’ll want more power at the corners
      Is my guess

      August 27, 2016 at 10:25 am

  12. 27 runs in 2 games they really are the Bronx Bombers!! Buck had to be tranquilized after the game-lol He has had a rough series, besides watching the ass whippings,he has been on the losing end of the replays, including some I thought should have gone the O’s way!! This team has been transformed, done a 180 does not look like the same team from a month ago. The Sanchize has been beyond belief,he has rubbed off on the others, even Hicks has been hitting-lol Green was not good today,PsychoJoe did not make a friend yanking him with 2 outs in the 5th. Gidrool Layne got the win,so you know things are going the Yanks way. Get the broom out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    August 27, 2016 at 5:20 pm

  13. I know they Picked up some kids
But just losing Beltran and Arod adding Sanchez and Judge transformed this team into a good squad

Imagine if they still had Miller and Chappy

Who would want to face that in October ?

  15. Judge’s K rate is now up to 38%… that’s starting to get Dave Kingman scary.. Actually Kingman’s worst season was 34.8% in 1973

He averaged 24.4% over a 15 yr career
