Yanks Bench Press Da DahJizz 3-0

with 13 comments

Jacoby Ellsbury was carried off the field on the media’s shoulders this morning after his immaculately timed PH Tater in the 7th inning broke a scoreless tie game  that  eventually ended up  a 3-0 season saver Bomber win over the “Dahjizz”

CC Sabathia who was brilliant for 6.1 innings, and a posse of LA pitchers starting with Francesa FeeNom Julio the driver Urias had a definite  stranglehold on this scoreless must win game….

That’s until Aaron K Judge pulled a possible / probable  season ending oblique at some point in his 4th inning AB, and the $153M Doughboy who  was riding the pines got the rescue  call ..

Both  teams were struggling to  score runs, the Yanks facing hotshot prospect Julio Urias managed a single and a walk in the 2nd inning, a walk and a single in the 3rd…

They missed the  chance to hang a crooked number on LA in the 4th, despite 2 singles, a HBP, and a walk.. Unfortunately Teixeira killed a lead off knock  by bouncing into  a heavily shifted 6-4-3 DP.. The Yanks immediately  loaded the bases on a HBP, a single and a walk that ended Urias’ night

Torreyes couldn’t deliver with the bases loaded and the game stayed knotted at zero-zero..

The Yanks went down 1-2-3 in the 5th, Bubbles McCan’t wiped out a lead off Castro knock by smacking into  a heavy shift for a 3-6-3 DP in the 6th and the offensive futility continued

The Bombers finally exploded in the 7th  as the DoughBoy morphed  into the  Ellsbury NY is paying $153M to when he smacked a  2nd deck Tater to right field off LA’s 3rd reliever of the night Tommy Ross Stripling..

The Big fly not only woke up  the Yanks but Teixeira risked injury cheering the Ellsburied Bomb.. Looks like Hitting coach Alan Cockrell Spaniel  can’t believe it either ??

D-Gregorius fresh off the mash unit floor the last two games pinch hit for Torreyes and whacked the first  pitch into the right field seats for  back to  back Jacks and a 2-0 lead

The SanBino

Sanchez joined the Bomber squad in the 8th  with a Big Fly across traffic to right field that fell just  short of the Modells Sign to  cap it 3-0

CC Sa-Bad-Ass

To  say  Sabathia showed up in a must  win game is an understatement.. The Bomber offense had been quiet during the two  consecutive losses that  almost flatlined the 2016 season if you’re looking for playoff glory

“He was locating them in off the plate, sinking it away and cutting it in on the hands. He had everything going,” Brian McCann said. “He did whatever he wanted tonight.”

Sabathia over came his bug-a-boo, the first inning per Lying Joe ?

“In his career, the first inning has always been the toughest,” Girardi said. “I thought that was big for him to get out of there without giving up a run.”

I checked Sabathia’s splits,

His career 1st inning, .230 .295 .372 .667

His career 4 thru 6th inning  .262 .321 .402 .723

2016 1st inning   .194 .299 .344 .643

2016 Innings 1 thru 3  .221 .308 .337 .645

2016 innings 4 thru 6  .275 .332 .443 .775

2016  innings 7 thru 9  .353 .405 .529 .935

Anyway, never let the truth get in the way  of a good presser…

Sabathia danced around some minor trouble in the 1st inning after  Puig almost hurt himself getting punched out with a man on 3rd base

Kendrick walked. 0 0
Turner grounded out to pitcher, Kendrick to second. 0 0
Seager grounded out to second, Kendrick to third. 0 0
Puig struck out swinging. 0 0

CC worked out of another man on 3rd jam in the 2nd with  another punch out

González grounded out to third. 0 0
Ruiz struck out swinging. 0 0
Hernández doubled to left. 0 0
Hernández to third on passed ball by McCann. 0 0
Segedin struck out swinging. 0 0

He sent down 8 in a row before a single in the 5th, but still  remained unscathed.. Sabathia worked around a 1 out single in the 6th and hammered home a brilliant 6.1 innings, 3 hits no  runs, 1 BB, 7 K’s, 93-61 pitches by inducing a ground ball out to Gonzalez

Warren kept the 7th inning clean, Clippard started the 8th inning, got 2 outs and was yanked by Psycho Joe  after a Kendrick single..

Betances polished off the last 4 outs  for the Bombers, giving up  a lead off infield knock in the 9th, but no  harm no  foul, no Runs, and a Big Win

the Yankees (77-67) went on to blank the Dodgers, 3-0, to halt their two-game losing skid, stay two games behind the Orioles (79-65) and Blue Jays (79-65) in the American League wild-card hunt and, by virtue of the Twins’ thumping of the Tigers (77-67), regain full control of their October destiny.

Tough task this afternoon 4:05 Kershaw vs PinHeada

That’s a gruesome thought having your season on the brink  and PinHeada is the next  days starter, vs the Worlds Best LHP

Maybe Kershaw is still  rusty from his back injury DL???

  1. always more funner when the fellas win, Wish they had a quality LHP to throw at LA today… My god trusting PinHeada is bonafide suicide… We need a miracle…

  2. “For his whole career, the 1st inning has been difficult”……looks like you caught Psycho Joe with his knickers down!

I wonder what the boys in Vegas think about the line on today’s mismatch???
It’s gonna take a miracle for Pinetop to keep his focus & command today.
    What we DON’T need today is a performance of 5 innings, 5 hits, 1 walk, 8 K’s, & 4 runs!!
I guarantee if that happens, the Don B will have his people take Pinetop on the Tessio Ride.
    On a wing & a prayer…

    • Hey mB…..Sabathia does seem to labor in those early innings, I was actually surprised to see the splits.. P-Joe should have the fucking things memorized, but he’s so used to bull shitting, the bull shit got eye deep

      September 14, 2016 at 8:50 am

    • yes the DonB just put on the high powered Tesla electronic scope on his assault stun rifle, might not need to spend gas money lol….

  3. Big win if you’re looking for more then just watching the kids grow..

Actually Judge is most likely gone for the season… Which opens a spot for Mason Williams possibly…?

it also gives Refsynder the everyday job in Right which will be a nightmare in Boston, unless Hicks miraculously comes back…

He’s not due until next week though.. Personally I’d bring up Jake Cave to play RF in Boston, at least have him ready to play defense late

Plus Cave is on a 7 for his last 12 tear

  4. thank God it started to rain, between the ump giving Kershaw a 22 inch plate, and strikes being from the ankles to the shoulders, his stuff looked un-hittble, he didn’t need the help….

win of lose thank you Mother Nature

    September 14, 2016 at 6:11 pm

  5. The Mets actually let Turner go, they’d be pretty good with Murphy, Turner and Cespedes… Turner just robbed the SanBino, he’s not supposed to do that

Come on Baez, throw Sanchez a fast ball, and miss your spot….

Severino lost command there for a few batters, Dodgers helped out… He was more like a young Mike Tyson punching out Ethier

5 K’s in a row for LA pitching.. OK fellas Kershaw left an inning ago, this guy just looks like him……..

    September 14, 2016 at 7:09 pm

  6. Psycho Joe abandoned the Binder running Severino out there vs all these LHB’s.. He went with talent over the Book… So far so good…

Looks like he’s doing the same thing with Bubbles McCan’t… Ref vs Baez or Bubbles vs Avilan

Ref blew it getting punched out with men on 2nd and 3rd, P-Joe has an itchy trigger finger

and now he’s lost McCan’t vs a RHP…. Bubbles was lost vs the Loogy Avilan… Can’t always roll a 7…

  7. Castro really fucked up.. You can’t allow a base runner with Betances on the bump automatic man on 2nd base….

    September 14, 2016 at 7:47 pm

  8. At least the season will go down with Betances on the bump, but Castro really fucked up…Man you wait out Kershaw then lose to their pen is fucked

    September 14, 2016 at 7:48 pm

  9. Next to the offense not showing up, Castro blew this thing making that error… You can’t let the lead off man on with Betances on the bump, that’s an automatic RISP…. 19 for 19 stealing off him….

lol Betances is 12 feet from home plate and he threw the ball over Sanchez’s head…. He shot puts those short throws, he can’t throw to 1st base either… 2 errors, 2 unearned runs…

Probably a good idea to correct that yip next ST….

Be a shame to blow a must win game where no earned runs were scored…..

    September 14, 2016 at 8:04 pm

  10. Dodgers had a great scouting report on the Yanks offense sliced them to pieces….unless DD can save it

    September 14, 2016 at 8:05 pm

  11. Another 2nd baseman who loses focus.
Willie Randolph where have you gone ???
