  2. Seems trivial but

Fernandez won the 2013 Rookie of the Year award by posting a 2.18 ERA over 172 innings. He made his first of two All-Star Game appearances that season as well, and finished third in Cy Young voting, behind Clayton Kershaw and Adam Wainwright. That was his age-20 season.

This season marked a triumph for Fernandez, as he returned to a full workload after making 11 high-quality starts in 2015. He showed no rust. Fernandez entered the weekend with the best strikeout rate and most wins (16) of his career.

  5. Very sad to hear about Jose Fernandez and later Arnold Palmer-RIP both.
I think today the binder finally short circuited and finally blew out. Our psychotic manager flipped the binder and brought in Betances for the 8th instead of Clippard!!! Betances really has been horrible lately-Clippard too-so now ALL the relievers can be called gidrools-lol Betances walked the lead off man in the 8th,naturally he scored to give the Jays the lead. He has been having lots of problems with his control, holding runners on,throwing to bases and the opposition has taken advantage of it. Not good. The YES boys were intimating that the Yanks may have to look elsewhere to get a closer next season. After a miracle occured and the Yanks scored runs to take the lead,Betances started the bottom of the 9th and walked the lead off batter again!!! Clippard came in,gave up some hits, made a poor play/decision on a bunt that tied the score and gave up the winning run again. Yanks have NO chance of even winning a game if these 2 guys don’t get it done. They are simply not as good a team as the Sux and Jays and it has really shown on the field. At least Girardi made it throught the post game.
