The Old Brawl Game

with 11 comments

The Yanks have had a rough season, especially vs Canada and Boston in their buildings, until last night, when Canada tried to  get chippy and piss on the Bombers grave, but when the Smoak cleared, the Yanks held on to  the most satisfying win of the season 7-5

Josh Donaldson is a good baseball player, but like most of his Canadian teammates. the reigning AL MVP  is a whiny punk bitch….

Donaldson who crowds the plate, wears an  elbow guard to protect the fact he leans way over the dish was barely  nicked by a Severino  fastball on that padding…

Donaldson looked to  be a bit pissed off and sure enough  the next inning JA Happ dusted Chase Headley… Happ missed his first chance to nail Headless, and at that moment a warning should have been administered, but wasn’t.

The very next pitch nailed Headley and what Happ foolishly did was wake up  a sleeping dog who looked  like they  were once again  ready to be embarrassed by another AL rival

The benches erupted but not much happened until Severino  who  wasn’t having any success as a starting pitcher retaliated by hitting Justin Smoak the next inning…

For some reason Happ  started the ruckus, but after a bunch of pushing, shoving, and shirt grabbing Psycho Joe, Robbie Thomson and Larry the Stable guy were tossed along with Severino..

It looked like Sanchez was jawing with Smoak when Russell Martin started to jaw at Sanchez and they had to be held apart……

Canada held their foot on the Bombers neck, holding onto  a 3-1 lead until  the Yanks cut the deficit 3-2 by scoring a run in the 8th…. Up by a run Gibbons decided to use Jason Grilli  to  close out the game

5 runs later the Yanks carried a 7-3 lead into  the bottom of the 9th… The 5 run inning was punctuated by a Teixeira HR that  tied the game 3-3.. Tex performed a Bautista bat flip just  for good measure…

A base hit and a dramatic HR by the much maligned Aaron Hicks gave the Yanks a 5-3 lead..A double, a walk, a single and a sac fly made what looked to be a very safe 4 run lead

Betances  in an effort to get back on his horse continued his dreadful September by inducing 2 base on balls and blowing yet another defensive play

With the bases loaded and no  outs, T Penny Layne was brought in to put out a 3 alarm fire with a pale of water

Somehow the former Boston lefty who  was rudely DFA’d by the Red Sox, managed to gut out and preserve the most satisfying win, maybe in the last 3 years..

Layne relieved Betances. 7 3
Donaldson flied out to right. 7 3
Encarnación walked, Smoak scored, Pillar to third, Barney to second. 7 4
Pompey ran for Encarnación. 7 4
Navarro hit for Carrera. 7 4
Navarro singled to right, Pillar scored, Barney to third, Pompey to second. 7 5
Ceciliani ran for Navarro. 7 5
Martin grounded into fielder’s choice to pitcher, Barney out at home, Pompey to third, Ceciliani to second. 7 5
Tulowitzki fouled out to left. 7 5

Anyway  we’re out of time this morning

here are some links that  recap  the game enjoy

Benches Clear

Tex Flips Out

Wounded Birds

the Whole 9

Both  the Yanks and Canada finish their season playing both Baltimore and Boston, here’s hoping Canada loses all  6..

Boston has already  secured a playoff spot, one more Toronto loss and a Boston victory  and they  also  win the  Division…

  1. The Psycho Manager said that the umpires had a bad weekend. He has a lot of balls to make that statement.

    • Yanks got lucky last night noogsie, psycho Joe got the heave ho, he wasn’t around to fuck things up, although I’m sure Harkey was on the phone a lot, but not seeing his hyper cranky ass standing there angst out had to be a plus

I know Betances is cooked but I’d like to see him get a good inning before Sunday is over..

  3. Found an interesting article on Betances that may explain why he has been pitching so poorly lately . I just hope that it is fatigue, and he is not becoming Rick Ankiel. He really had a melt down last night,it was sad to see. Although the psycho was not on the bench, you can bet he was calling the shots from the clubhouse, all the managers do. I guess I have to take back ALMOST all the bad things I said about Hicks-lol Even though he hit the go ahead 2 run homer,he messed up that fly ball in the 9th!! Gidrool Tommy Layne showed a lot of guts last night, that play at the plate was incredible,as was GARDY’S catch to end the game. I also enjoyed Tex’ bat flip. He should have run around the bases
    holding his arm like Encarnacion.
