It was a big day  for our Scottsdale Scorpions who beat the Salt River Rafters 4-0.. Tyler Wade and Miggy Andujar went a combined 0 for 7, but 4 other Bombers prospects had very productive games

Gleyber Torres is battling for the AFL Batting Title, and he exploded for 3 hits in the win to raise his average to  .403

Torres leads Zach Vincej by a hefty margin (25 points), after being only 2 points ahead of him before his 3 for 4,  ( double,  RBI,  2 runs scored ) game yesterday.. Torres has one more game left, hopefully he plays in it….

Ain’t That Good News,

Three Baby Bombers featuring  James Kaprielian who started and  pitched 4.1 innings, 1 hit, no  runs, 2 BB’s 4K’s

Nestor Cortes 1.2 innings 1 hit, 1 BB, 3 K’s

J.P. Feyereisen 2 innings, 1 hit, 5 K’s

Arano is a Phillies prospect,

Yankees kids 8 innings, 2 hits, no runs, 3 BB, 12K’s

Kaprrielian has some funky stats Re: his peripherals, but hitters are only batting .217 off him.. You have to think shoddy  defense may have taken some of the sheen off any stat line..

With Kap  coming off his injury, just  shedding the rust and him feeling healthy is top priority, seeing his line yesterday was encouraging

Cortes a smallish 5’ 11” Lefty, per his game log, has had 2 good  relief outings in a row after 3 rough ones to  start  the AFL season

Feyereisen, one of the kids in the Miller trade, seems to be coming on strong also after a shaky start in October.. His first  three  appearances were shoddy, but in his last 10 innings, 8 hits, no runs, 3 BB’s, 15 K’s….

Rick Porcello  from Boston, via New Jersey, won the AL Cy Young, despite not getting more 1st place votes then Justin Verlander Upton

There you go, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned..

On the other side of the coin, If you did see any of the MLBTV broadcast,  Scherzer won the NL Cy Young, and in contrast to Porcello celebrating with his Brohammers at home, Max looked like he was compiling his victory laps at a  Gentleman’s Club

  1. Cashman was on with Boomer/Carton this morning, talked about possibly trading McCann which could free up some money to sign free agents, main focus was on pitching, starters and bullpen. Big Mac must have wanted out, waived his no trade. Yanks got back 2 “prospects”,who knows what they will turn into. Meanwhile, who are we going to complain about now that McCann is gone?-lol I think its a great move, they save money and can probably now keep Romine as the back up. Gold glove winner GARDY may also be packing his bags. Francesa went to Vegas and freaked out about people in the pools, check out RNs funhouse.

    • hey Big D good to see you, was hoping you and Noogsie were OK.. McCann did a good job of hiding how pissed off he was that’s for sure.. Actually he’ll have a shot to go to the payoffs with houston, once they trade for Chris Sale or Chris Archer, or Verlander

Kate will be closer to to if that happens lol

  3. J.J. Cooper: “Albert Abreu has 4 pitches, touches 99. Jorge Guzman is better when he gears down to 97-99, touches 102-103. Good pickups for Yanks.”
Eric Longenhagen: “New Yankees prospect Albert Abreu: 91-95, can touch 97-98. Very explosive arm action, change has significant projection, curve already plus.”
Ben Badler: “I like Albert Abreu. Needs to improve command, but it’s a starter mix on a power arm up to 99 mph with two swing-and-miss breaking pitches.”
