You Never Have Enough Short Stops

They’re Not Happy They’re Gay

This article interested  me more for it’s bullying message then  whether 98% of the WNBA is lesbian.. We could care less what  closet you put your shoes in, just  don’t bully others if they’re marching to  a different tune ..

Rob and Steal Manfred

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred talked to the media yesterday with what  appeared to be a state of the game address..

Manfred used his time on the podium to  rail  against  the MLBPA…His rant was based on the fact the players union  didn’t except some of MLB’s  game changes Manfred’s posse had conjured up previous to  the new CBA

Now we could care less which 1 percenter group wins this argument, the White Collar Criminals owning teams with their MLB hired consigliere’s running the point, or the filthy rich players making enough money to  feed three small Nations

Our problem was

I didn’t hear one of the zombie reporters in attendance, ask Manfred what he was giving the MLBPA back for them complying with the owners new changes?

How about expanding the roster to 27?

As for enforcing a rule that speeds up  the game by insisting batters stand in the box or pitchers release the ball in a much more timely fashion, Ortiz just laughed at them when they  tried that  tactic

Imagine this, Trout, Betts, Sanchez, Cabrera, Harper, Machado etc step out of the box, the Ump tosses him in the first or 2nd inning, that’s the last time I take my family of 4 to a game and drop $600 to $1000 on a live game

Wait a second here, players get paid for the numbers they put up, I don’t care if Price does brunch before delivering a pitch, that’s how he became David Price.. I ain’t buying a ticket to watch Rob Manfred exercise his business acumen

Hey they want to pay me for the stats I accumulate, then deal with how I fatten up those big numbers… #TheNewLevineRule

No Shortage of Short Stops

Joel Sherman might be the only beat  reporter covering NY baseball who  didn’t have an ARod story.. When are these editors gonna figure out Who Cares what ARod is doing?

Good chance and Chris Moore one of the better WFAN Jocks was railing about this on Sunday or maybe it was Monday, The Yanks have 66 players in camp, most of them young players auditioning for the next NY Yankees core, NO- Bah-D cares what ARod’s job description is

He’s working off his $21M, he’s refurbishing his image, hopefully he makes a difference in some of these kids he’s taking out to  dinner, while he teaches them the ropes..

#ARod’sRevengeOverJeter

Anyway Sherman juxtaposes what  the Cubs did with a plethora of middle infielders in their system, to  what the Yanks should do, but I’m hoping the Yanks take a different route then  the Cubs..

The Cubs had an overstocked farm  system, at one point they  had Castro, Baez, Russell, with Torres coming up in their system.. Then they  went out and gave Ben Zobrist 4 yr’s $56M

Russell and Baez stuck in Chicago and were part of a World Series team, Zobrist  ended up  doing what he does best, coving multiple positions, one of them Left Field when Schwarber went down

Castro  and Torres ended up in NY for what  amounts to Aroldis Chapman, after Adam Warren  came back home in the Chapman  trade..

Sherman opines moving players like Ward, Mateo,  and Torres around the diamond give then  options to make the 25 man  squad.. You want young athletic gifted players, well  you have 3 of them in camp

Supposedly Mateo  is a man  with no position, well I’d get him a Centerfielders glove, which of course the Yanks have already  done… Ward played some Right field in the AzFL, Torres is still manning the SS position, but if Gregorius is their man, then Torres should move to  2nd base and become a RH Robbie Cano, at least on offense

In the past, this would all be received with trepidation by players worried about being labeled utilitymen. But the wave of the future is about versatility. The Cubs’ brilliant president of baseball operations, Theo Epstein, told me last October that he thought the need for 650 plate appearances is passé, and that getting 500-ish was fine as a way to keep the players fresh all season, always have a good contingent on the field and always have strong in-game options for his manager.

Mateo  fell out of favor in the Yanks system so he seemed to be the odd man out with the media putting him in every big trade rumor.. I wouldn’t move that kid off this team, when he was going good, he looked like the real  deal..

Rutherford might be the future Center Fielder, but he’s 18 yr’s old just  coming out of high school.. The Yanks won’t have plans for him for 4 years, barring injury.. Perfect you say  that’s when Ellsbury’s deal is over making Mateo  expendable..

At some point the Yanks will need starting pitching, one or two of these kids will be gone in a trade… I just  wouldn’t move Mateo yet, unless he’s part of a package that  brings back a cost controlled top of the rotation pitcher (Quintana)

At the moment the Yanks have a nice problem, that  could  turn into  a nightmare if Cashman flips the wrong kid.. It also  creates a problem if Cashman can’t figure out who  to  flip, like when he held Nunez and Montero out of trades for top  of the rotation monster Cliff Lee

Who know’s Girardi might be wearing #29 had Cashman done a better job of evaluating talent…

  1. I don’t like Manfred’s bullying tactics with the MLPA. And I don’t like ANYTHING with a clock associated with Baseball. In fact, I don’t like any sport with a clock. Period.
I don’t want to see these rich assholes screw up the game I love.
Because of the evolution of the Bullpen & how it’s used now in the Age Of Specialization, we are NEVER going back to the 2 hour baseball game. Never. Get over it.
That, is the biggest reason games have gotten longer. Match ups, tendencies, roles, specialization, have all contributed to where we are today.
The Moscone Commission will be doing a study on how to speed up the game this season. One factor we’re looking at is hiring the Great Kate Upton. She will be a roving instructor from mid May thru early September. Her job, will be to sit in the respective dugouts, moving from each, inning to inning, wearing only a skimpy bikini.
In this way, each pitcher will be trying like hell to get their team back in the dugout as quickly as possible to eye the Great Kate. We’ve already received the blessing from Verlander, so there’s no way why this can’t be implemented for this season.
The Moscone Commission will be looking at other ways, along this line, to speed up the game, as we go forward.

    • hahahahaha good plan moscone, we need 30 Kate Uptons one Kate for every dugout sounds like POTUS slogan

So let’s get the commission organized and start the interview process, the Don B screens, you and Big D make the decisions, me and Noogsie will agree with all of it, since you guys decisions will also be in our best interest

      great post

  2. Sounds like a plan. Sal.
You’re absolutely correct, sir. There’s not enough Kate to go around. We DO need 30 Kate’s.
To that end, as we get the Commission organized, I’m going to make a suggestion to alleviate the problem.
I believe we should waste no time in starting the interview process with the women of the recent Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Let’s sign ’em up now, work out scheduling, & set this thing in motion before they make other commitments.
I put it to the Board.

    • lol ok, but that’s an ambitious request, perhaps we should start at the bottom and start interviewing at the Town Crier first, work our way to the middle, the 55 bar, then we’ll be prepared for the rejections from the super models…

      Just 1 thought…

  4. Hicks fixed a hitch in his swing.. He’ll have to hit 4.50 and Judge completely bomb before he beats out Judge.. Hal needs marquee Judge is a high profile kid fans want to see… Hicks brings no juice to the Levine star fucker mentality
