No See TV

The Yanks had a split squad Tuesday vs the Tigers in Tampa, and Boston in Fort Myers, they  won  both  games  9-5 vs Detroit, and 5-4 vs Boston

The sweep gives them  a 5-1 Grapefruit League record, which means nothing, except it’s a hell of a lot better watching young kids trying to  impress, then a bunch  of rich old dudes pretending it takes 8  weeks to get in baseball shape, when in reality they  can’t wait to get away from the wife and kids after 5 months of the real world….

standings

Neither game was televised, only media was a Red Sox radio  broadcast that  was an intermittent  feed and  far from user friendly..

A disgraceful job by Al Yankzeera, and the Boston Insiders running Jet Blue Park / Fenway South.. These pricks  managed to shoehorn a capacity 9,850 fans in Fort Myers, and 6,700 supporters  at GMS in Tampa without having any production costs..

Another example of Organ grinders screwing the fans who throw peanuts to their monkeys and are counting on  TV or digital media for the daily content we’re paying for…

Thankfully MLB cameras cover just  about everything, so we at least found a limited selection of videos

Chris Carter’s GMS HR

Greg Bird’s Two Taters in Fort Myers

Fenway Slim’s Day

Sam Travis HR off Sheffield

Sheffield pitching to Hanley Ramirez

Amateur of Tanaka’s pitch over Kinslers head

For morons like me rooting for every starting pitcher in ST to  throw shut out innings, well that  ended yesterday in Fort Myers when Louie Cessa coughed up 2 runs on three hits, in his two  innings.. He walked one, struck out one, but with no video  we have no  idea how many pitches or what  his stuff looked like so  all  we’re getting is fake news

Two hyped  prospects Justis Sheffield, and Chance Adams also pitched after Cessa..

Sheffield  pitched 1.2 innings, 2 hits, he gave up one run on a Sam Travis Tater (link above)

Adams 2 innings, 1 hit, 1 BB, 1 K… No idea what his stuff looked like…

The Bomber offense picked up  12 hits, Bird’s 2 HR’s and Kyle Higashioka’s 2 knocks topped that list.. Looks like Torres went 1 for 1, and Andujar 0-3

Yanks Red Sox the Whole 9

Yanks Tigers

Gary Sanchez and Chris Carter hit their first homers of the year, while  Tanaka worked two scoreless innings in his spring debut, the Bombers tamed the Tigers, 9-5

All  we have is some Tanaka stuff..

The media bitching about his velocity, which makes little sense, he’s been living 88 to  91 with a scattering of 93 for the last 2 seasons, so it’s no shock he wasn’t trying to play  to  the knuckleheads watching a fake radar gun

“I know he will pitch whatever the velocity is. A lot has been made of it,’’ the Yankees pitching coach said of Tanaka’s fastball velocity ever since he suffered a small tear to the right ulnar collateral ligament in July 2014. “He’s not a velocity guy, he’s a pitcher. He knows what to do with the ball in his hand.’’

Four of the six batters Tanaka faced hit the ball on the ground.

“It means that the batter is off-balance, you’re getting the batter to be off-balance,” Tanaka said. “I think it’s a good sign.”

Good to  see Sanchez not giving the cliche answers

“The split was really good, and the slider [too],” Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez said through a translator. “The location of the fastball was a little off. But it’s the first start, so I know he can locate better.”

Looks like hot shot Johnny Holder was lit up for 4 runs and 4 hits in 1.2 innings.. He also  punched out 3 of the 5 outs he got….

Heller High Water  pitched a scoreless inning, but he walked 2 batters

Chicken Shreve, 1 inning n2 hits, no  runs

Yanks Tigers the Whole 9

  1. I really like how #24 talks pitching.
    That’s a sign of a good backstop.

    • Yes Donny, they keep stressing that about him, good sign… Our boy Higgy got 2 more hits in Boston, Romine has a guy in his rearview mirror… Higgy supposed to be a great defensive catcher

Romine out of options, not worth much as a back up catcher on the trade market will hurt Higgy’s chance of making the varsity is one guess
