The Anti-Jeters

“Time flies, memories fade, but family is forever. And I’ll be eternally grateful to be part of the Yankee family.” – Derek Jeter

jeet

Congrats to Derek Jeter as he receives a plaque from #HalCare, and moscone’s favorite Steinbrenner, Christina

It’s a damn  shame that Derek Jeter is buying the Marlins and not the NY Yankees, I mean how many more times does he have to  drop clues that all he’s ever wanted to  do is be a NY Yankee..Owning them  would take the dream to  another level…

I know two guys who  are probably glad he’s not a partial owner, and that’s Luis Severino  and Nibbles Tanaka, who  were the Anti-Jeter’s on a day the Bombers enshrined their present day Face of the Franchise’s #2..

Jeter will always be the lead singer in the band for the 48 thousand in attendance at game 2, and after a long ceremony honoring the Yankees Captain, the Mall on Rivera Avenue was ready to rock, there was enough  electricity in the ball park  to light up  the entire Eastern  seaboard..

The Yanks after a torrid come from behind win in  game one, despite Luis Severino looking like he was a right fielder pitching in a garbage time blow out, had their Ace, Masahiro Tanaka on the bump and they  were primed to  sweep  the best team in Baseball.. A win would have certainly cemented their 23-12 first place hold on the AL East Division wasn’t Fake News

Tanaka’s first  pitch  was a 89 MPH strike, 7 pitches later, lead off hitter George Springer belted an 85 MPH meatball 428 foot HR to dead central that pulled the plug on all the frenzy..

On Tanaka’s next pitch to Josh Reddick, the Astro’s right fielder hit a 390 foot laser that slammed hard into the 2nd deck facade for a quick 2-0 Astros lead.

Tanaka struggled through 2 more singles, a HBP, and the coup de grâce a Grand Salami off the bat of rookie Alex Bregman,  the Derek Jeter inspired player’s  first  career HR..

What a moment for Bregman, and what a bummer for the 48K who made the trek to  honor #2…

Tanaka wasn’t any better in the 2nd inning giving up  a lead off HR to George Springer, his 2nd of the game to make it 7-0.. With two outs, a walk  and a Beltran  RBI double made it 8-0, it knocked Tanaka on his wallet,  and Joey Claps had to  pull  the plug before somebody got hurt

There was no YES Network  to be found after the game, so we couldn’t  find out what  was up  with Tanaka… With a day off and the Bombers hightailing it out of town to Kansas City that verdict will have to  wait..

On the other side of the coin Astro’s starter Charlie Morton after a lead off single to Gardner punched out 7 in a row to make sure there was plenty of elbow room for the remaining customers who were no  doubt Horror Movie aficionado’s..

Shuttle Butt Giovanny Gallegos did a great  job eating 3.1 innings in relief of Nibbles Tanaka… He coughed up an unearned  9th  run  in the 4th inning on a lead off walk,  a catcher’s interference, and a sac fly..

That  was it for Houston until Betances, the third Brand name Yankees pitcher to not show up on Sunday, relieved Penny Layne in the 9th inning with 2 outs which made little sense..

Formula Joe was still trying to  out smart the Astros despite being down 9-4 but Betances didn’t have it coughing up  2 singles, Sanchez allowed a passed ball  and Houston went up 10-4

The Yanks down 9-0 scored 4 runs in the 5th inning to at least show some spark if nothing else, when they  finally caught up  to the real Charlie Morton

Carter walked. 9 0
Torreyes grounded out to shortstop, Carter to second. 9 0
Gardner singled to left center, Carter scored. 9 1
Sánchez singled to center, Gardner to second. 9 1
Holliday homered to right (380 feet), Gardner and Sánchez scored. 9 4
Castro grounded out to third. 9 4
4 RUNS, 3 HITS, 0 ERRORS

Surprisingly the Bombers, thanks to Morton  falling back to  earth in the 5th  and taking advantage of  Houston’s  underbelly relievers in the 9th, scored 3  and had Aaron Hicks come to the plate as the tying run but closer Ken Giles ended the spirited comeback by getting Hicks on a 1-3 put out to end it

DAYAN DIAZ PITCHING FOR HOUSTON HOU NYY
Torreyes singled to right. 10 4
Gardner struck out swinging. 10 4
Sánchez doubled to deep left, Torreyes to third. 10 4
Holliday struck out swinging. 10 4
Torreyes scored, Sánchez to third on wild pitch by Díaz. 10 5
Castro singled to right center, Sánchez scored. 10 6
Giles relieved Díaz. 10 6
Castro to second on fielder’s indifference. 10 6
Judge singled to deep left, Castro scored, Judge to third on error by left fielder Marisnick. 10 7
Gregorius walked. 10 7
Hicks grounded out to pitcher. 10 7
3 RUNS, 4 HITS, 1 ERRORS

Kudos to  the Bomber offense, they  were able to  outhit  a disastrous Severino outing in Game 1 scoring an 11-6 win

In game two  despite the impossible task of crawling from the 9-0 wreckage after Tanaka put them in an 8-0 hole, they plated 7 runs and had a chance to  actually tie the game with one swing from Little Hank,  but the 3 run rally died on the vine..

  1. It’s ironic that 4 Yankees earners Severino, Tanaka, Betances and Warren

17 hits 15 runs in 6.1 innings of work…. if you wanna call that pitching line work, I call it horse shit, I’ve seen county workers leaning on shovels put in a harder day at the office…

    The Anti-Jeters disgraceful…

If you want to buy Severino was getting squeezed have at it.. Joey Claps thought the strike zone was a little tight for Sevy

Green and Holder 4.1 innings 1 hit no runs, what did the ump do expand his strike zone?

Formula Joe had a kid the Astros hadn’t seen much getting it done but he wanted his formula 7-8-9 guys to take over, really asshole ???

In game 2 Gallegos, Shreve and PENNY LAYNE 7.1 innings 1 hit, no runs 6 K’s

Somebody should wake up Cashman, so he can figure out WTF happened?

    • Hey Donny I felt the same way, I am glad the offense showed up, albeit in garbage time, but they got within a swing of possibility…. Friggin pitching just shit the bed……

  3. My take is that if Jeter was ever part of Yankee Ownership ( and the Steinbrenners would never allow that) his first order of business would be to send a few clowns packing. Randy Levine is at the top of the list, then Cashman who treated him like shit and went public with the last contract negotiations, and then Girardi who manages every game as if it is an electronic programmed software competition being played somewhere in a basement

    • Hey Noogsie, my thought’s exactly if Jeet was part owner,

my wife is very disappointed the Steinbrenner’s would bring him in as a partner….. I promised I’d start a Jeter buys the Yanks thread, so I did….Unfortunately we both know that wouldn’t happen, man how great c would it be if he did…

  4. The best thing about yesterday, aside from the ceremony, was being able, for a brief moment, to gaze upon my babe Cristina.
Hal hit the jackpot there. I only get to see her, briefly, at these ceremonies. But, the last couple of years, she’s been on display cuz there’s been so many.
This year, she went for the slacks & boots. With no chance to check out her legs & ass. Disappointed? U betcha! I’ve been in love with her since she became Hal Wife #2.
A fine piece of ass. Grade A. Top shelf. USDA Inspected!

    • lol, moscone jump in the shower, turn on the right knob all the way clockwise, stand under the water and take a cold shower for 5 minutes you’ll be fine

I thought my still of your favorite Steinbrenner caught her best side, Christina is a very pretty lady, and I bet very smart…. I painstakingly nudged that snap to the perfect spot, and this is what you give me, you’re disappointed hahaha

  7. 6 qualifying pitchers in AL have an ERA above 5.75.
2 of them are Yankees: Masahiro Tanaka (5.80) and CC Sabathia (5.77).

  8. Chance Adams made his first AAA appearance, he had a shaky first inning with walks and soft contact knocks but figured it out

He pitched the typical NY prospect 5 and fly game

5 innings, 2 hits, 3 BB’s, no runs…. The walks and the amount of pitches he uses to eat 5 innings is what he needs to get better.. this kid has stuff, he just can’t figure out how to make it go where he wants it to….

Torres smacked a Tater for Trenton, Rutherford hit one for Low A Charleston who got whacked 10-2

  10. Catcher splits click on the graph to enlarge This is Tanaka pitching, with Higgy, Sanchez and Romine catching

Winning will keep the wolves away but it’s a matter of time before somebody like Sherman or King or Davidoff start looking at the splits with Romine behind the plate and Sanchez back there.. When I get more time I’ll do all the starters
