The Hope-a-Dope

with 11 comments

The Bombers do  a great job with Hope Week, you can’t hang a price tag on that  type of generosity and give back to the underprivileged by a $3.2 billion dollar Sports Franchise

Overall, the 30 MLB franchises are worth $36.0 billion combined with an average value of $1.2 billion, a 48% increase over a year ago when the average team was worth $811 million.  …..

The Yanks are most likely inspiration for other teams to also help their neighborhood

Turn the coin over and I’m sure Levine and Trost can locate a few tax write offs, but  for the folks they reach out to, it’s  a great  cause..

The NY Yankees get our coveted Paint Brush Award…

In return, if they  can lay  a few  moat seat tickets on Moscone so he doesn’t have to  ruin his shirt from the nose bleed next time he visits the Mall to help Levine and Trost send their kids to  college, we’d appreciate it…

There is a prevailing thought the Yanks retain good karma from this wonderful deed, they have a winning record during Hope Week, and from what  we see and hear from ESPN / YES tree monkey Ryan Ruocco, the players love to  give back….

Our Paint Crew confirms the intel

This is Hope Week,Yanks are now 29-10!!!! Good deeds get rewarded!!!

Well  last night the Karma Gods didn’t want to oblige our heroes  and the out of town  Royals clubbed the Bombers bull pen like baby seals in a 6-2 loss..

The Hope here was Formula Joey Claps was gonna have an  Ace up his sleeve when at 98 pitches he yanked the Gumbino, who’s only black eye  in this game came from Lorenzo Cain’s 400 ft laser shot HR to LF one batter before the match up lefty Hosmer became the last Royals player he would face ..

The Cain Tater  most definitely  gave Joey Claps cold sweats, and you knew Montgomery was on thin ice, God forbid they let a kid pitch 7 innings ..

All the GumBino  had done was keep  the Royals off balance for 6.2 innings, on 2 hits and the 1 run, where was Joey’s touted offense????.. There were some loud KC fly ball outs, but since when is life fair?

On  analytics paper Formula Joe made the right call, except he left a thousand dollar car with a little gas in the reserve tank at parking ride, and jumped into a limo running on empty, so Joey only made it to  he toll booth before it was too late

We’ll never know but the only Fresh Arm in the pen was Bryan Mitchell, who  was called on later to  clean up  the 1.1 inning Warren, Holder, Shreve, 4 run, 4 hit, 3 HR mess. and he swept it all up on 11 pitches

1 inning, 1 K, no hits no  runs…11/8 pitches..

As for Warren

It was the third time in his last five appearances that Warren surrendered multiple runs in an outing as his excellent start to 2017 becomes a distant memory.

“I don’t want someone tired facing Salvador Perez,’’ the manager said. “I made the move, it didn’t work, but I don’t second-guess myself.”

That’s the Formula Psycho Joey Claps we love…Judging by the results and the beat media,  Warren, Holder and Shreve were all  tired..

One kid mesmerized KC for 6.2 innings, maybe another Fresh One  you just  brought up  would do the same for 3 to  6 outs, or God forbid take it to  the house in a 3 inning save…

Formula Joe will never win  a Goose

pitching

Duffy was once again a thorn in the Bombers side, he wasn’t as devastating this time as last week, but his only two black eyes came from a Hicks short porch Dinger in the 4th inning, and an absolute 420 foot Bomb to left field  by Hurricane Carter in the 5th..

Duffy’s only blemish in the first  3 innings was a lead off walk in the 2nd to Castro, but Judge broke his gavel banging into a tailor made 6-4-3 DP to adjourn that  session

Hicks poked the fly ball Tater in the 4th  to give the GumBino  a 1-0 lead to protect..

Carter rocked Duffy in the 5th with  a 2 out Big Fly… Ellsbury  scratched out a single Hicks walked, Holliday eked out another infield knock  but Castro couldn’t deliver the mail  with the bases loaded and they let Duffy off the ropes down 2-0

Headley doubled in the 6th but Romine mired in a horrendous slump  since losing his everyday  job to  Sanchez  struck out

Holliday  and Judge singled off Soria in the 8th  but they  died on the vine when Gregorius and Headley who hit a rocket to  first base, failed to cut into  the now 6-2 KC lead

Mike Minor finished the Yanks off in the 9th punching out Sanchez and inducing a DP off the bat of Ellsbury to end the pain…

Hit and Run

BATTING

Hate to be a spoiled sport but Winfield has a point… not a big fan of all the hype they shell out, what happened to sneaking up on people.. Plus the more hype they throw on Judge or any kid, the bigger the bulls eye on their back

Teams already want to kill the Yanks why give them more ammo?

“Judge’s Chambers, huh? It may be risky,” Winfield said. “Making it in New York is a tough proposition, but (Judge) started off well this year. The game is unforgiving. You can do great for a day, a week, a month, a half year. It takes a lot to focus and put it all together. I hope he doesn’t get distracted with all the focus. Figure out the game of baseball first.”

  2. Thanks for the effort, son, in trying to liberate a few moat seats from Messrs Brillo & Trost.
But, I’m not gonna hold my breath.
I shoulda run Brillo over when I had the chance a couple years ago…

  3. Psycho Joey Claps had a very revealing answer when asked in the post game presser about removing Montgomery–Joey said that he never second guesses himself. Neither does a fucking machine. —-That’s why we’ve got, wrong or right, good or bad.

I’ve spent hours figuring out the Zep version, because it’s really bad ass thing to try and do…… I’m wondering if T-Bone realized half way through his rehearsal they better straighten this fucker out, or lose it with theses Nashville cats lol
