The SanBeat Down

with 7 comments

Sanchez had been 1 for his past 19 versus the Red Sox, the only hit being a homer off Price in late September.

So  the SanBino  is Back!!,

Well  as long as David Price is on the bump Gary Sanchez looks like his idol Manny Ramirez?

The media will  do  anything to refuel  the NY / Boston rivalry, and Marchand @ ESPN is trying to  start  a fire by rubbing  David Price, and Gary Sanchez together… Sanchez at the moment owns Boston’s  $217M Ed Whitson

By now the  stats have become a Household Name…Forget flowers, Beat writers should send Katie Sharp a big check in the mail….

In seven career at-bats vs Price, Sanchez has four hits, all of them homers.

Boston came into  this series feeling their oats (Price had dominated Baltimore), the team  was on a roll, ( winning 9 of the last 13) the fan base was cocky, they  (expected to leave NY in first place) and with the Bombers lunch money..

If Tanaka would have called in sick on Tuesday it’s hard to  say how many runs Boston would have put on the board in this series….

but

Starting with Chad Too Green and Chicken Shreve’s 4 inning Tanaka clean up  on Tuesday through last night, TitleTown has scored 1 run in 22 innings, and it was an unearned run on a passed ball, created by a throwing error from Headley to Carter……

Boston started out well in Thursday’s rubber match, they  did what  they  do best off Pineda in the first inning, hit little dink singles for base hits, they got 2 of them, and a base on balls..

The SanBino and Gregorius gunned down Betts trying to  steal  2nd base on a brilliant play by both Bombers..

but

Boston’s night came into focus when the Cafeteria Lady was punched out with 2 on and a chance to  send a message the Ortiz mystique that is choking the life out of this team is now circling the drain

David Price has never scared the NY Yankees, ( career 4.69 ERA) but he did have his way  with  them pitching for Toronto for 2 months in 2015

Price like his offense started out good, he escaped a couple  of 2 out walks in the first, but that  was the highlight of his night..

In the 2nd inning a base on balls ( Sanchez)  and single (Gregorius) and a two  out RBI knock by Gardzilla jump started the Bombers steam roller

Like Tony Soprano on a back-hoe, the SanBino  took over the levers in the 3rd inning

Judge singled to center.

Holliday walked, Judge to second.

Castro flied out to right, Judge to third.

Sánchez homered to left (415 feet), Judge and Holliday scored.

Sanchez was now 3 for 6 vs Price all  3 were Taters.

Price pitched his most economical inning, a 1-2-3  4th, but with the line-up  turning over, and his pitch  count rising, he wasn’t long for his 3rd start of the season..

In the 5th

Castro singled to left.

Sánchez homered to right (415 feet), Castro scored.

Sanchez was now 4 for 7 with 4 HR’s vs Price..

Ever since the struggling, “but not struggling” SanBino was moved to  the 6 hole he’s  3 for 8 with  6 RBI’s and 2 HR’s.. Maybe that has more to  do  with facing Price in one of the 2 games, or maybe he would have started to feel it regardless where he’s hitting in the line-up, he didn’t seem to  care when   asked by the media

“He is starting to feel it a little bit now, so I’m excited about the next couple of games,” Aaron Judge said after the Yankees’ 9-1 win over the Red Sox, which put New York three games up in the American League East.

  1. Price is taking a pounding in Boston… Thats fine fuck him, he’s a mercenary so he gets what he deserves, but when does Dombrowski get called out, he’s the ass hole that gave him $217M

He’s the ass hole that emptied the farm system for Thornburg and Carson Smith, neither guy threw 1 pitch

He’s the guy who traded Travis Shaw now they get no production out of 3rd base…

  2. Tanaka gets pushed back

Big mystery, wondering if they go with Green Warren maybe bring up Mitchell.. We know Adams is on Tanaka’s schedule, but do they really want to bring him up for 1 spot start put him on the 40 man.. I would be shocked if that’s the case
