score box

The Bombers are presently on their worst run of the season, after last night’s 8-7 Crushing Defeat in 10 innings..

They’ve lost  3 in a row before, but now they’ve lost Sabathia, Sanchez, Hicks,  Warren is day  to  day and Betances  who used 39 pitches trying to  keep  the dream  alive will be unavailable tonight

D-Bet needed to come in and once again clean up  another  Clippard mess in the 8th, had to  toss 1.2 innings…

As we later found out Adam Warren  was not available hence handing the ball  to

 astronomer #30 Giovanny Gallegos

As for Warren, he felt tightness Tuesday in the back when he pitched an inning against the Angels and has been limited to playing catch since.

“I am not too concerned,’’ Warren said. “I will do treatment the next day or so. It affected the way I throw so I wanted to get ahead of it.’’

It looked like Gallegos was ready to  pull of the miracle after getting the first  2 outs, but Gallegos, the Yanks last healthy man  standing  being inserted into Brillo Levine’s favorite position on the field couldn’t get the last out

Gallegos relieved Betances.
out to third.

Joyce struck out swinging.

R. Davis singled to right.

Pinder doubled to right, R. Davis to third.

Lowrie intentionally walked.

K. Davis singled to center, R. Davis and Pinder scored, Lowrie to second.

“When I started running I thought I had it,’’ said Castro, who had his back to the infield when the ball entered and left his glove as center fielder Brett Gardner was charging. “It hit the glove before I fell to the ground. I did my best to catch it, but tomorrow is another day.’’

It looked too me that Gardner had the better chance to  catch  the ball  but Castro’s attempt may have held Gardner off… Also  with Hicks injured running out of the box in the 8th inning we wonder if he would have gotten to it quicker calling Castro off?

The Yanks made FOUR comebacks to  tie, they  finally got a lead in the 10th but the cost  was their hottest hitter Gary Sanchez in process

Romine struck out swinging.

Gardner singled to right.

Refsnyder reached on infield single to third, Gardner to third.

Refsnyder to second on fielder’s indifference.

Judge walked.

Castro hit sacrifice fly to right, Gardner scored, Refsnyder to third.

Holliday hit for Torreyes.

Holliday struck out swinging.

After Monday’s win over the Angels the Yankees were riding a seven-game win streak, digging themselves and enjoy the buzz that followed Judge. Friday they haul a three-game skid into the Coliseum likely without Sanchez, Hicks and Betances as the map to Baseball Hell looms nearby.

Hit and Run

HR: Carter (7, 8th inning off Axford 0 on, 1 Out)

Team LOB: 13

SB: Castro (1, 2nd base off Madson/Phegley); Sánchez (2, 2nd base off Casilla/Vogt)

Castro and Sanchez were on their way  to being co-heros before the bell  tower went silent in the bottom of the 10th

  1. Last 2 Yankee losses by Herrera and Giovanny Gallegos-WTF!!! Hard to believe the NY fkn Yankees have
to depend on these guys who no one heard of,at the bottom of the 40 man roster. Last 2 losses have been particularly disgusting, made much worse by the fact they happened so late at night. This road trip to HELL
can’t end soon enough. I was stunned when Gallegos came in to start the 10th,wondering where the other relievers like Warren were. I watched the post game on YES this morning and found out Warren has a stiff back,Sanchez a sore groin,Hicks sore Achilles. They are beginning to look like the Mets. Clippard gives up a hit to the lead off batter, walks the next guy and looks surprised when GeniusJoe comes to take him out!!
He has been hammered dog shit the last 3 appearances,is now the King of the Gidrools in the pen, congratulations. They love to brag about the fabulous minor league system but can’t find a reliever that can get batters out. Just have to hope Sanchez and Hicks are not going to be out for a long period of time
and someone steps up in the bullpen.

  2. Just saw Joey on the replay of last night’s post game presser. Wound tighter than a watch from Bob Steele.
Also read a telling article from Bill Madden. Jeter not the biggest Psycho Joe fan based upon the shabby treatment of his buddy Posada. Personally, I think Bird’s foot problem is in his head.
We only have to endure a half dozen more Clippard screw ups before a change is made.

    June 16, 2017 at 12:10 pm

  3. hey fellas first time I chuckled all day thanks for takes and spot on per usual…. Bob Steele hahahaha I remember my mother and father taking me there as a kid, I think he had an auction too, tremendous noogsie

Big D I’m with you and Noogsie on king gidrool hahaha 12 more fuck ups should do it…

We all understand keeping guys stretched out but there are some fucked up decisions being made when your not using some of your better minor league pitchers to knock off wins at the varsity level..

Lets get this straight Chance Adams needs more seasoning he’s killing it at AAA, but Gallegos and Herrera don’t???

They took both teams they’re playing lightly it had to be that and both the Angels and A’s smelled blood.. The whole division lost last night you’re picking up a game on Boston who is playing 3 in Houston, lets get these hot shots they plug every night so you buy tickets up here..

Boston misses the Astros two best pitchers this week end so they keep lucking out, although that 1-0 loss to Philly was pretty great

Cessa gets a shot next and I like what I saw from German, hopefully when he can carry over when he’s not sporting a big lead.. If these two fail, lets don’t talk about the big time farm system on YES anymore it only enrages the fan base who is paying the freight

Can Francesa be any more of an apologists for Girardi???? Francesa picked the Yanks to be a .500 team so he’s loving this, his ego is bigger then his love for this team

thanks for the tip fellas I’ll dig up the Madden thing.. I had to leave early this morning so we couldn’t compile intel…. Yes hopefully the guys aren’t out for long….

    June 16, 2017 at 4:34 pm

  4. here is the Madden piece

fans are coming back because they’re winning, start fucking with not giving the varsity it’s best depth players and find out how empty YS gets Billy… And sorry Billy, but this team is winning in-spite of Girardi, not because of him…. All of those kids got better because there are job openings now in NY,it has ZERO to do with Girardi

No ARod, Beltran, McCann, Tex, Can, the core 4, to block key positions

. Cashman has 40 man roster problems? He’s gonna start having ownership problems if he doesn’t figure out how to get the best kids on the field for the varsity

Tanaka should have grabbed the ball and said Joey san give me the ball I’ll get you 3 outs, take a bow and get after it…lol.. these are guys in their mid twenties, WTF………

    June 16, 2017 at 4:46 pm

  5. Two days later Marchand writes Gleyber Torres ready to take over 3rd base… Is it me? Headley is starting to hit, something in the editing room got screwed up.. Maybe the real guy is on vacation .. But depsite Headley going on a mini run, the Torres story is as quick a turnaround as I’ve ever seen, 2 days lol

    June 16, 2017 at 5:45 pm

  6. More BS from Cashman decisions

Higgy and Mason Williams up, it’s un-official but Hicks 10 day DL, Sanchez DL…. Cashman has 2 or 3 Oier’s better then Williams, not on the 40 man roster..

why is Williams even on the 40 man roster? He’s a AAAA player, if somebody takes him in the rule 5, they’re stuck with him for the season… Who’s taking him? and who cares if they do, there are 6 guys coming better then him

If you play an out field position and you’re athletic with speed, what is there to learn?

No matter when they come up, they’ll be exposed to MLB pitching, right now they’re all hitting AAA pitching..

Doesn’t every MLB team have AAA pitchers on their squad, you’re not facing Sale Kershaw Severino, Berrios, Keuchel types, every night…. The pen guys are probably tougher but it would make sense to bring up the best talent…..

I can see Torres he’s learning 3rd and 2nd base and he’s 20 yr’s old… Fowler, Frazier and Wade are professional ball players.. When you hear them talk, they ain’t sitting around like you come home after school and watch a ball game, they don’t have time for that, they’re grinding out a day job at SWB… Get them up here…Lets see some talent….

  8. Mike Axisa from his chat

Q: Bird is the latest version of Nick Johnson. Much talent and zero ability to stay healthy!!!

    Answer: Johnson was better.

Mikey 2 Chins 2 weeks ago said he’d trade Harvey for Montgomery in a nano second….That’s simply not a good idea… The Bird / Johnson debate, Bird has really disappointed.. Making the bell is part of being a great player, and so far he can’t make the bell…

    June 16, 2017 at 6:36 pm

  10. Bryan Hoch @BryanHoch

Adam Warren lands on the 10-day DL with shoulder inflammation. G. Gallegos optioned to AAA. Kyle Higashioka & Mason Williams called up.

  11. Bryan Hoch Retweeted

    Matt Kardos @mattkardos

Chapman tossed 20 pitches, just 9 for strikes/6 swinging. He allowed 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, and 2 wild pitches. Hit 102 on the gun #Yankees

    June 16, 2017 at 8:33 pm

  12. Sal–I figured you would remember Bob Steele. My parents were always down that way, going to Angelo Altomari’s grocery store–he was a relative. I still have my Bob Steele watch, but it doesn’t work–it’s wound too tight. Just a slight drop from a Rolex. LOL

Better tack on some runs fellas

    June 17, 2017 at 12:14 am

  25. Maybe Girardi and Cashman Think this is a Hollywood movie and somehow these gidrools are gonna get it done

When Oakland saw who they had in the bullpen there was a fight it’s a bat rack

YES should be embarrassed every kid they bring up gets bombed they should pull those commercials they really should

Oakland fired a bunch of coaches to get the team fired up maybe that’s the answer here only add #28

    June 17, 2017 at 12:38 am

  26. Incredible that a major league team has no one in the bullpen that can pitch a scoreless inning. I am sick and tired of hearing about the great farm system, they bring them up,they can’t get anyone out!!! THEY FUCKING SUCK!!! FIND SOME RELIEVERS!!!!

    June 17, 2017 at 1:05 am

    • Hey Big D YES should be arrested for false advertising, the way the Oakland dugout looked when they knew Shreve Holder and Clippard were waiting to shut them down for 9 outs you just hoped for 3 innings of AT Em pitching but no dice….

      June 17, 2017 at 6:11 am

    June 17, 2017 at 8:10 am

  28. Only our psycho manager who, with Hicksie and Sanchy on the shelf, would then decide to rest Gardzilla, and Gregorious. Didi has a 17 game hitting streak. Isn’t the concept that when some of your starters go down, the other starters make up for them? With the state of the bullpen, you had to figure that we might have to just outscore them last night. So, with two starters down, let’s rest two more. What a clown.
