The Texas 2 Step, Toe-Maine Poisoning

with 4 comments

Finally they have seen enough, Patches Carter, He Gone, DFA’d

Thanks Big D for the drop  early this morning..

My guess the Carter pink slip had to pass  through #Halcare’s hands,   so a tip of the cap  to Boss Junior, these mooks would have kept running him out there… Next move we hope, DL Headley, why have a compromised bench, get Wade up here with Austin..

I repeat nobody cares about the 40 man roster Cashman, that’s why you make the big bucks, figure it out….

With Austin Romine and Mason Williams on the bench, Chase Headley injured but not on the DL, Chris Carter was Girard’s only hope in the bottom of the 10th with one out and men on the corners in a 1-1 tie

Of course Carter struck out, but spark plug utility man Ronnie Torreyes didn’t… The diminutive in stature but very very large  in the  heart back up infielder smacked the 2nd pitch he saw from Matt Bush, a clothes line 98 MPH fast ball, back  up  the middle for the walk off 2-1 win

None of it happens if Gardzilla doesn’t plant a game tying Tater into  the right field seats  in the bottom of the 9th after Chapman  gave up  a single, a HBP,  a stolen base, and Sanchez allowed a run to  score on  the Beltre strike out / passes ball.. The series of misplays by the battery broke a 0-0 tie in the 9th… In favor of the bad guys from Texas

It was another heartbreaker waiting to  happen until the very combustable Place Matt Bush let his boys down, Gardzilla  picked up  a bat, not a wet newspaper, and it was

Mayja vu all over again...

Chad Too Green  relieved Chapman in the 10th inning  and had 3 chances ( 3 RHB’s) to  hold serve at 1-1.. Unfortunately Gregorius punted Green’s first  chance when  a tough hop morphed into  a lead off E-6

Green induced a ground ball out vs the tough Lucroy, but walked the dangerous Napoli,  so 1 out of 3 chances would have to  do…

Thankfully strike out / HR machine Joey Gallo  was punched out by Chicken Shreve in a long 6 pitch affair

The more sensible and selective Choo didn’t bite on the consecutive Wrinkle pitches Shreve was dealing, and he induced a walk…  Shreve had now painted himself into  a bases loaded corner with 2 outs, and the go  ahead run 90 feat away

Elvis Andrus another tough out, worked a 3-1 count forcing Shreve  to throw fast balls in fast ball  counts… Somehow after a long 7 pitch  battle the last of three pitches, 94 / 95 MPH heat, Andrus popped up  to Castro  and he didn’t drop  this one

Houdini  would have been proud  of Shreve, the Yanks were still  alive, and it was Toe-Maine Poisoning  for the Rangers in the bottom of the 10th

Tanaka Tonic

Well  it  looks like the Yanks didn’t need Pedro to  fix Tanaka after all,… All it took was a good old fashioned  Asian- American steel cage match between a pair of National heroes Darvish and Tanaka, televised back to JapanKa Ching Fu U

Tanaka was so lucid, at one point he made a defensive play that was athletically extremely slick, and through-out his  8 inning, 3 hit, no  run, 2 BB, 9 K gem, his 4 pitches were text book.. I must  say he looked drugged……. Or inspired, bottle it…

Darvish  and Tanaka are tricky bastards, when right, they  throw a lot of pitches with wrinkles, then a well placed fast ball because they can…. They both hit their targets more often then not last night in the rain

Darvish was even better then his opponent, until his arm told him to stop the pissing contest after 7 innings, 2 hits, no runs, 10 K’s…

If the Rangers shop Darvish at the deadline, the team interested hopefully has scouted him for a while.. They’ll want to ride him hard for 2 months, get their money’s worth on the rental, and you don’t want him missing starts, or worse

  1. Seemed like a nice man, but one of the most frustrating performers to ever wear Pinstripes

  2. 2 Chins would have traded Montgomery for Harvey in a nano second he said

    He hates Chapman

and Doesn’t think Adams is any good

So far he’s 0-1 on Harvey

  3. After the Japanese death match the game came down to whose bullpen is worse. Fortunately the Rangers gidrool losers are worse than ours. Sanchez is like a train wreck behind the plate-missing balls, bad throws-wonder what happened to the guy we saw last year. Shreve cannot throw 2 consecutive strikes, its horrible watching him. Last 2 innings were incredibly frustrating and aggravating. Chapman was about 1/2 step above a gidrool. Note to self-don’t use him in the rain vs the Rangers-remember last year. Was watching
quick pitch last night,Heidi said after the Yankee highlights that Carter was released. Thought it might brighten your night!! I guess even Cashman could not take any more of his useless pathetic at bats, especially the one in the 10th. Good news today Yanks facing career minor leaguer, pure gidrool-bad news,Cessa is pitching for us!!!
