Big Mingo

I saw Domingo Acevedo with the Staten Island Yankees  a few years ago, he was a big Ivan Nova looking kid  who was throwing 98 at the Short Season league..

Looks like he’s been pitching backwards, he gets better as the leagues get tougher, sort of like Jorge Mateo? Maybe Denbo should pay  attention, maybe some of these kids are so  talented maybe regressing their advancement by keeping them  at Tampa High A for whatever reason isn’t how to  handle them?

As soon as Mateo got to Trenton the bright lights big city woke him up..

Big Mingo’s numbers

Low-A: 0-4, 4.57 ERA, 7 starts, 41 1/3 IP, 52 K, 9 BB

Double-A: 3-0, 1.39 ERA, 7 starts, 45 1/3 IP, 47 K, 6 BB

Triple-A: 1-1, 4.38 ERA, 2 starts, 12 1/3 IP, 8 K, 8 BB

Supposedly,  the DonB’s favorite pitching coach Larry the Stable Guy, watches these pitchers every chance he gets on his iPad

Rothschild: “He’s always had a good arm. I think he’s trying to develop a slider. He has a good changeup. It’s just a matter of getting enough experience and working a few things mechanically that he needs to straighten out. And then we’ll go from there.”

 

Larry, You Think, shouldn’t you know?, No wonder the DonB has put in a request  for the Tessio Ride..

We often wondered if Acevedo would be brought up  to help out of the pen, he hits 103, maybe he can throw the ball over the plate, but Larry said that’s not in the conversation, he’s being groomed as a starter

Let Choi  be the boy Cash, he’s trying to hit his way off the dog pound, and you can’t teach hitting a ball 457 feet… Just  saying.. We’ll let you know when we’ve seen enough of this kid, until  then, look for some pitching, and get Pineda the hell out of the Bronx…
