The Face, Case Closed

The Face

With  MLB looking  for the Next Big Thing, they rolled a 7 on their promo last night  as Aaron Judge came as advertised winning the WWE flavored HR Derby over the Twins Miguel Sano

MLB has managed to  create their new face of the game, Case Closed, it’s  Big Hank Aaron Judge

he derby

Aaron Judge celebrates with Danilo Valiente, the batting practice pitcher who helped him win the HR Run Derby.

Big Hank Aaron Judge demolished his competition at last night’s Hr Debry contest, and the happiest man in the house was Cuban defector / Bomber BP pitcher Danilo Valiente

While it was an  impressive showing smashing 500 foot Bombs with  juiced balls into the Miami din, almost equally impressive was Valiente’s doing his best Masahiro Tanaka imitation  by laying the cookies right on the spot for not only Judge but The SanBino

Judge smacked 47 Taters, SanBino  walloped I think another 27, so we’ll  see if Tanaka can catch Valiente’s 74 HR against, in the 2nd half… Chances are he can  do it, he’s at  23 now

“That,” Robinson Cano said of Judge, “is another level.”

It was good to  see the SanBino  knock out Giancarlo Stanton 17 to  16, the SanBino  was looking pretty ragged in real baseball activities over his last 40  something PA’s, so  at least we know there is no injuries that  should keep him from  raking in the 2nd half

Catching and raking is another story, but power hitting catchers are rare, as are players with a complete tool set like Judge so  the Mall on Rivera Avenue should be doing most of the Raking In come July August  and September

Just make sure Judge stays healthy, and if you visit the Mall, make sure your credit card is up to  date

He’s Not Bour’ing

It’s hard to  tell exactly what Justin Bour is off that  competition  last night, but he can  really generate all  the new fangled metrics like launch  angle, exit velocity and bat speed through the zone stuff, plus he’s a bit of a knucklehead with lots of energy…

He’s a Big Hairy LHB Monster, so  those rumors  saying the Bombers are looking into  what his sticker price is, they might want to  ramp  up  that shopping spree

Forget PED’s Bour’s elixir is the Doughnut

Time to make the Doughnuts Cashman

Bour was a 25th  round draft choice by the Cubs he’s 29 yr’s old in his 4th  season, and this looks like this is  his coming out party season.. His K rate is 21% 305 PA’s 65 K’s

His slash line is

.287 / .367 / .556 / .923 w/ 20 HE’s 59 RBI’s

 his M.O is

“Just going out there and whacking balls,” as he put it. “Sorry I can’t be more analytical.”

  1. I got caught up in this thing, after watching some bad offense down the stretch, it was good to see some fake bombs blasting in the Dome

  2. Over his last three starts for the RailRiders, Mitchell has gone 17.1 innings and has allowed four runs. He has struck out 17 batters over this current stretch. In his last outing against Buffalo on July 5th, he had undoubtedly his best outing of the year. Mitchell pitched seven innings of one run baseball, giving up just five hits. He struck out three along the way. Mitchell has attributed some of his success to fastening his tempo on the mound.

  4. I was out at a dinner I couldn’t refuse, so I didn’t get home until the last round. Which was pretty amazing! There was that stretch, when Judge hit ball after ball, deeper than the last, over the wall. It was some display of raw power. Juiced ball or not.

I loved Mitchell since the 1st time I saw him. Tough kid, with a good arm. Hoping he’s finally figured this thing out, & is here to stay……in whatever capacity.

  5. Sad Fact:

I just read disappointing news, under the headline of “How The Hell Did This Happen???”.
Former pitcher, Livan Hernandez, has filed for bankruptcy.
He earned over 50 Million!! During a 17 year career.
    Wait….it gets worse.
He now owes up to $1 Million, to as many as 49 Creditors!!!
He estimates his assets are worth less than $50,000!!!

Even with my propensity for hookers & manage a trois, I couldn’t spend that kind of money in 2 lifetimes!!!
How the fuck does that happen?????
