Battery Charged!
The TV Networks, specifically Rupert Murdoch’s Fox conglomerate, have finally knocked Donald Trump off the Front Page by hosting an MLB bonanza World Series featuring the Cubs and Indians
A little ditty about Chicago and Cleveland, Two American Cities, doing the best they can…
The Cubs we know haven’t won a World Series in 108 years…
The Indians last won a Ring in 1948, they returned to the Fall Classic in 1954 after winning 111 games, but lost to the NY Giants in a 4 game sweep..
Cleveland also blew their shot in the 90’s when they went to the Playoffs 5 years in a row, 2 World Series losses, 2 ALDS losses, and an ALCS defeat later and we have a 68 year drought for the Tribe faithful who are just as hungry..
Thanks to a masterful performance from Indian Ace Corey Kluber, now the first pitcher in MLB History to strike out 8 batters in 3 innings, a shaky but gutsy 2 innings from Andrew Miller, a deadly 3 strike out inning from Cody Allen, and last but far from least, a 2 HR, 4 RBI night from rookie call up catcher Roberto Perez, the Indians grabbed their must win Game-One, 6-0
Kluber, Miller, Allen, and their Battery Mate, along with Frankie Lindor were the deciding factor in Game One
Kluber 6 innings, 4 hits, no runs, 9 K’s, 88-59 pitches
Kluber kept the Cubs off the board, while his offense scratched out a two-run first inning.. They forged to a 3-0 lead on an impressive solo HR by Roberto Perez in the fourth..
Perez later circled the wagons and clinched it with a three-run Big Fly in the eighth against Hector Rondon for the insurmountable 6-0 lead….
Andrew Miller, at the moment, is MLB’s Boogyman, he’s the last pitcher the Cubs want to see, or at least that’s the media’s story and they’re sticking to it…
Miller’s results have been nothing short of brilliant, after last night’s 2 inning, 46 pitch Agita Fest he’s compiled
13.2 innings, 7 hits, 0 Runs, 4 BB’s, 24 K’s 1 GB, 14 FB, 218 pitches
Out of the 7 games Miller has been in, he’s given up at least one hit in 5 of them, 2 hits in one of them (last night) and no hits in a dominant 2 inning 5 strike out performance vs Canada..
Kluber pitched to one batter in the 7th, a single by Zobrist, and Francona immediately hit the Miller button hoping for the per usual formula wipeout.. Not so fast, in fact the Cubs were probably happy to see Kluber split..
Zobrist singled to shallow left. 0 3
Miller relieved Kluber. 0 3
Schwarber walked, Zobrist to second. 0 3
Báez singled to shallow left, Zobrist to third, Schwarber to second. 0 3
Contreras hit for Coghlan. 0 3
Contreras flied out to center. 0 3
Russell struck out swinging. 0 3
Ross struck out swinging. 0 3
0 RUNS, 2 HITS, 0 ERRORS
After a walk to Schwarber which I thought would be a mismatch in Miller’s favor, Baez hit a single to load the bases with no outs, and Miller had lost his 2nd consecutive 2 strike batter..
Lucky for Francona, his formula of yanking Kluber after dominating, and the guts of Miller who once again saved the Indians, and himself, by inducing a pop up and two punch outs…
If nothing else the Cubs rode Miller hard and it took 21 pitches to escape the 7th inning.. Facing the top of the Cub order in the 8th didn’t make his second inning any easier, especially after a walk and a two out single…
Fowler lined out to center. 0 3
Bryant walked. 0 3
Rizzo flied out to center. 0 3
Zobrist singled to shallow right center, Bryant to third. 0 3
Schwarber struck out swinging. 0 3
0 RUNS, 1 HITS, 0 ERRORS
The Scwarber AB was what I had envisioned the first time the two players faced each other in the 7th.. That said Schwarber has done a lot of heavy lifting in an effort to prepare despite having only 6 AFL AB’s in 2016.. His double off Kluber in the 4th inning was a definite wake-up call that this dude is dangerous…
Miller’s Pitch Count
On paper this was a must win for Tito’s Tribe, the thought process is they win every Kluber start, and try to steal one of the remaining 4 games..Miller throwing 46 pitches could impact how he’s used tonight.. Cody Allen punched out the side on 17 pitches so his workload could increase if the Indians are indeed ahead late..
The World Series and unknown players make strange bedfellows in October.. Roberto Perez, who knew.. although if we remember he had a good first game vs Boston….

That whole mess isn’t worth the time of day bro ski #highroad
— Indians star Andrew Miller is not only the biggest weapon of this postseason, he provides great insight as well. Miller didn’t necessarily think the Yankees’ pen was handled great this year, saying, “I know when (Aroldis) Chapman came back to us for the Yankees this year, Dellin (Betances) and I were kind if up in the air about what order we would pitch. And in some instances it created a mess because we were both warming up next to each other. I think all managers, I think Joe (Girardi), Tito I’ve been lucky to have some that really handled the bullpen well. But you hate to have two guys warming up at the same time. It seems wasteful in a sense.”

Now this nerd from NJ.com thinks Miller is off base slamming Girardi
How would he know what goes on in the pen is he sitting out there
Is he sitting in the dugout
How many times has Girardi lied
Who you believing Miller or Girardi
And maybe it wasn’t meant to be a diss just a statement that it would get confusing
And when is the last time the nerd got up and down to warm up and not get uses
